Independence Day    July 4



Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this

country won liberty for themselves and for us, and lit the

torch of freedom for nations then unborn: Grant that we and

all the people of this land may have grace to maintain our

liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our

Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one

God, for ever and ever. Amen.

MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

This past week, I had the gift of working remotely from the beach. It’s become a rhythm for me, a quiet space to catch up on administrative work, dream about the year ahead, and take a breath. And while I made good progress on planning and projects, what really stayed with me was the sound of the waves.

There’s something powerful about the ocean. It’s steady and vast. It humbles you. It washes over your toes whether you’re ready or not. And each time I sat by the shore, I found myself thinking about the baptisms we’ll celebrate this Sunday.

Baptism is a bit like the ocean. It’s more than a ceremony or tradition. It’s a plunge into something ancient and powerful. It’s a moment when God meets us with a love so deep it cannot be measured. We are washed, claimed, renewed. Not because we are perfect, but because God is good.

This Sunday, we will baptize four beloved children of God who are ready to say yes to that love. They are ready to step into the mystery of grace and begin a lifelong journey of faith.

And the truth is, their baptisms are not just their moment—they are a reminder to all of us. A reminder that we, too, have been washed. That God still speaks our name. That no matter how tired or tangled we may feel, we can begin again. Grace is still pouring. The Spirit is still moving.

Whether you’ve recently been to the beach or just need the reminder, may this week bring you a sense of being held—by God, by community, by the waters of your baptism. You are beloved. You are not alone. And there is still so much grace ahead.

“When religious institutions like ours enjoy easy coexistence with earthly power, our traditions and inherited systems can become useless for interpreting what is happening around us,” Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe said ahead of Independence Day, July 4. “But our recent reckoning with the federal government has allowed us to see clearly the ease with which the Protestant tradition of patriotism can lead Christians to regard our faith more as a tool of dominion than a promise of liberation.”

Summer Formation Series: The Gospel of Luke

Last year, we spent time building confidence in how to approach Scripture—exploring where it comes from, how it’s shaped, and why it matters. Now, we’re ready to open the pages and dive in.

This summer, we’ll journey through the Gospel of Luke in an 8-week series shaped by Scripture, The Bible Project videos, and rich conversation. Each week centers on a theme—radical love, healing, community, hospitality, and more—that invites us into the story and shows us how to live it.

Whether you’re new to Scripture or just eager to explore it in a fresh way, this class is for you. No homework, no pressure—just open hearts, curious minds, and good news.

Sundays Make Sense!



Join us for a special three-week children’s series designed to help kids engage more deeply with worship! Each session explores different aspects of church—from the liturgy, to sacred symbols, to how kids can participate and lead.

The Circle stands for our hope for wholeness in our lives. The outflowing lines from the center represent the numerous works of the Episcopal Church Women, extending into the world. The intertwined lines represent our lives centered in Christ.

Sacred Ground Circle Beginning This September at All Saints!

All Saints Episcopal Church is pleased to announce the formation of a new “Sacred Ground” dialogue circle, beginning this September! Sacred Ground is a powerful and insightful curriculum from the Episcopal Church, designed to guide us in a journey of learning and reflection on race, faith, and American history.

This small group experience will provide a safe and supportive space for engaging in honest conversations, deepening our understanding of the ongoing impact of racism, and discerning how we are called to work towards racial healing and justice.

Whether you are new to these conversations or have been engaged for years, we invite you to join us as we explore this vital aspect of our faith and everyday life.

The Episcopal Church often uses the term “Sacred Ground” to refer to a powerful and transformative dialogue series focused on race, faith, and American history. The Men's Breakfast is always the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 am at Traders Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach. Jim Thrift, our convener, will be in attendance setting up the room before 9:00. The breakfasts are for all Christian men for fellowship and fun. We discuss most everything except religion. Plan to attend and bring a friend as all are welcome, especially newcomers. If you attend you'll have fun, if you don't, we'll talk about you.

Jazz Night at St. Paul’s in Prince Frederick

On Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m., please join us for an elegant evening of music, food, and fun featuring Susan and Jim Yoe and friends. Advance tickets will be $35 per person, or $40 at the door. Tables of six may be purchased for $150. Food will be served (hors d’oeuvres and desserts), and proceeds will go towards the refurbishment of our handbell set (any proceeds beyond what is needed will go to St. Paul’s general fund). Credit card purchases or donations can be made through our QR code (see below), or you may pay with a check made payable to St. Paul’s. All are invited to attend!
