MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

This Sunday, we’ll once again take part in what has become a beloved tradition at All Saints: our annual Instructed Eucharist.

If you were here last year, you might remember how powerful it was to slow down and walk through the “why” behind what we do every Sunday in worship. Even for lifelong Episcopalians, it’s easy to move through the liturgy on autopilot. Taking time to explain the meaning and movement of the service helps us remember that nothing we do in church is accidental or hollow—every word, every gesture, every moment points us to something deeper.

Worship trains our hearts. Its rhythm, week after week, forms us in faith, grounds us in hope, and sends us out to love. In a world that often feels chaotic or divided, we need that grounding more than ever.

So whether you’re brand new to the Episcopal Church or have been receiving communion for decades, I invite you to come this Sunday ready to listen, wonder, and rediscover the richness of our worship. Come with questions. Come with curiosity. Come expecting to encounter the holy.

Because that’s really the heart of it: the Eucharist is not just something we do. It’s where God meets us, feeds us, and sends us out to be Christ’s body in the world.

Mold Found in Lower Parish

After the recent stretch of heavy rain and high humidity, some surface mold was found on the baseboard of the side wall in the lower parish—it has been cleaned and treated. A dehumidifier has been placed in the room, and we’ve lowered the temperature to help reduce further spread.

We think this surface mold is probably a symptom of a larger issue, so while this is not a long-term solution, our Property Warden and buildings team are already planning next steps. For now, we simply want everyone to be aware. If you have any concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sundays Make Sense!



Join us for a special three-week children’s series designed to help kids engage more deeply with worship! Each session explores different aspects of church—from the liturgy, to sacred symbols, to how kids can participate and lead.

Sundays: July 13, 20, & 27

12:00–1:00 p.m. (after the 10:30 a.m. service)

Upstairs Parish Hall

This is a fun and hands-on experience perfect for elementary-age children. Come to one, two, or all three—no signup necessary! All are welcome.

Thank you to everyone that participated by donating blood as well as everyone that helped to make the blood drive a success! There were 33 people that participated in giving blood which included 8 1st time donors, and 4 Power Red donors, at the end of the day we collected a total of 25 units of blood! The donors are friends and members of All Saints as well as several people from the community, which was very exciting to see! For each unit of blood collected, 3 lives can potentially be saved, so with the support of our donors, 75 lives could be positively affected! Be sure to mark your calendars for the next drive which will take place on Thursday, November 6th from 1-6 pm! 

Join us for a series of LGBTQ+ information classes, led by Father Andrew. The series will consist of four classes on consecutive Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m., beginning the third week of July (July 16, 23, 30, and August 6th) in the Parish Hall. ECW Updates

Have you ever wondered...What does the ECW do?

The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a semi-autonomous organization within the Parish, focusing on enhancing the quality of Parish life. The ECW is open to all women of the church 16 years and older.

---The ECW plans and facilitates the annual Christmas Market in December. The ECW manages vendor selection and relations, publicity, Bake Sale tables, Craft Sale tables, Gluhwein and hot cocoa sales, Silent Auction, 50/50 raffle ticket sales, and more. Funds earned through the Christmas Market are used for the purchase and repair of all kitchen appliances, kitchen supplies, and paper and cleaning supplies used in the kitchen, parish hall, and by the Altar Guild.

---The ECW is responsible for kitchen usage and, through its funding, it assists in the improvement of kitchen facilities.

---The ECW coordinates all functions (internal and external) related to the use of the kitchen, including set-up and clean-up of all ECW-sponsored events.

---The ECW coordinates all funeral luncheons and all special parish receptions.

---The ECW coordinates the Annual Pancake Supper, a parish and community event, on Shrove Tuesday.

---The ECW meets monthly to plan and organize events, as well as handle the organization’s business. The ECW also meets monthly for food, fun, and fellowship.

---The ECW coordinates a lunch for those who help with the spring and fall campus clean-up. 

---The ECW Coffee Hour Teams coordinate the weekly set-up and clean-up of our beloved Coffee Hour held between services every Sunday.

---The ECW participates in the Calvert Arts Festival and is responsible for the Back Door Cafe, craft table, and bake sale.

---The ECW donates a portion of the money earned each year to the Vestry and an organization chosen at the Annual Meeting/Women’s Breakfast.

---The ECW hosts an annual Breakfast Meeting in the spring, open to all women in the church and their guests. The food is made and served by the men of the parish. 

---The ECW donates a portion of the proceeds from our various fundraisers to causes in the community.

In addition to our numerous activities and responsibilities, we appreciate the fellowship that comes from working together to serve God in our parish and the community. We would love to have you join us in fellowship and joyful work.

Whether you can attend our monthly meetings (held on the third Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. in the parish hall) or not, we invite you to get involved. Sacred Ground Circle Beginning This September at All Saints!

All Saints Episcopal Church is pleased to announce the formation of a new “Sacred Ground” dialogue circle, beginning this September! Sacred Ground is a powerful and insightful curriculum from the Episcopal Church, designed to guide us in a journey of learning and reflection on race, faith, and American history.

This small group experience will provide a safe and supportive space for engaging in honest conversations, deepening our understanding of the ongoing impact of racism, and discerning how we are called to work towards racial healing and justice.

Whether you are new to these conversations or have been engaged for years, we invite you to join us as we explore this vital aspect of our faith and everyday life.

When asked to join, I really didn’t think that Sacred Ground would have a grand impact on me — that the way I saw racism would change. This was my mindset before.

In Sacred Ground, we read and discussed articles and excerpts from books. Our group watched videos. We heard the voices of those whose lives were impacted by unequal laws and educational opportunities, unfair housing practices, and outright bigotry by those in the community and even the church. We learned why some people felt fear and resentment toward races different from their own. And we prayed.

Sacred Ground allowed me to see. It has been easy for me to live in a bubble where inequity does not touch me. I have a good life. I am privileged. All the more reason for me to become aware and sensitive to those who have been disenfranchised by the privileged.

Sacred Ground offers an opportunity to learn, discuss, and pray for an open and loving dialogue.

The Men's Breakfast is always the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 am at Traders Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach. Jim Thrift, our convener, will be in attendance setting up the room before 9:00. The breakfasts are for all Christian men for fellowship and fun. We discuss most everything except religion. Plan to attend and bring a friend as all are welcome, especially newcomers. If you attend you'll have fun, if you don't, we'll talk about you.

Jazz Night at St. Paul’s in Prince Frederick

On Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m., please join us for an elegant evening of music, food, and fun featuring Susan and Jim Yoe and friends. Advance tickets will be $35 per person, or $40 at the door. Tables of six may be purchased for $150. Food will be served (hors d’oeuvres and desserts), and proceeds will go towards the refurbishment of our handbell set (any proceeds beyond what is needed will go to St. Paul’s general fund). Credit card purchases or donations can be made through our QR code (see below), or you may pay with a check made payable to St. Paul’s. All are invited to attend!
