Headmaster Letter
 Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

We have a delightful evening ahead of us this Thursday at Calvary North. This year's Winter Concert promises to be a beautiful, inspiring evening of music and merriment. Please feel free to invite family and friends! It's events like these that remind us why we're engaged in the vital work of cultivating the hearts and minds of our students. This is why the fine arts are so important--because they breathe  aesthetic life  into us. They fill us with a yearning for the highest, noblest, and finest things. How beautiful it is that our students receive this gift and then share it with us during this special evening!

Some families may also be curious about our Blazer Ceremony, which has occurred during the Winter Concert in previous years. Because we want this ceremony to become a culture-building moment for our middle school students, we have elected to hold this ceremony in January during an all-school assembly. Please look for more information about this special event in the days ahead.

With Devotion,

Headmaster Weinhold

The PSO is hosting our December Dine-out at NPX, a locally-owned neighborhood restaurant, offering a "creative spin on traditional American classics." The restaurant has an expansive heated patio along with ample interior space to accommodate our NPX families. The restaurant is contributing 20% of the day's sales from 11am to 9pm for dine-in and take-out orders when you mention NPX. Please, consider joining us, or taking-out, as the name is impossible to forget and the proceeds will make it possible for us to provide meals for teachers during January's conferences.

Basic guidelines:
Every class will be given a final assessment. Not all assessments will be comprehensive, nor will all follow a traditional format. For instance, a final assessment may look like a formal discussion, a special project or presentation, or may involve a take-home component. Your child can expect to receive study guides and special instructions from teachers no later than December 11.

Missed Exams:
Per the NPX Family Handbook, "All family vacations should be scheduled during school breaks. Absences due to vacations will be considered unexcused absences." This is particularly important during final exams. Please note that our teachers do not typically offer exams prior to the scheduled exam period, nor are they obligated to reschedule an exam due to family vacation plans. Because our Academy closes for winter break, students who miss an exam may be required to take their exam when classes resume in January. If your child misses an exam due to illness or family emergency, please reach out to the teacher as soon as possible.
