Headmaster Letter
Dear North Phoenix Prep Families,

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us for Curriculum Night this past Thursday! It's always enjoyable for me to speak with our families. In fact, I like to say that the family-school partnership is the "secret sauce" that's key to our success. When parents, teachers, and administrators are all in cahoots, the students are sure to follow.

That's why it was so important for me to share our school's commitment to loving the students unconditionally. On the first day of school, I told the students that our job as teachers and staff is to love them, and that their job is to love one another. And I meant every word. Unconditional love means actively willing the good of others at all times, no matter what. Love of this kind is not something that our students earn or achieve. It's a gift that we offer generously and freely--just as you do in your own families.

As we launch into the second half of the quarter, let's deepen our partnership by actively seeking goodness in each moment. Let's look for small ways together. What if we put down our devices and had conversations instead? What if we asked, "How are you?" and really listened to the answer? Let's commit to willing the good in all circumstances, no matter what, and especially in the small things.

With Devotion,

Headmaster Weinhold

College Counseling

The College Counseling season has begun in earnest! Rep Visits are in full swing! Last month we hosted our first representative for the year from Emory University and had well-attended application workshops for our seniors for both University of Arizona and Arizona State University. There are many more events to come. Please refer to the college counseling calendar on the school web site for up-to-date information on Rep Visits, application workshops, SAT and ACT testing dates, and other events both on and off campus.

You are invited to join Great Hearts Academies along with ASU, Barrett the Honors College, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 for an information session and tour. The session will give you the opportunity to hear more about the Barrett program offerings, admission, financial aid, and housing. After the information session, there will be a tour of the Barrett facilities.
Please only register for ONE SPOT (WITH THE STUDENT’S NAME). On the day of the event ONE PARENT can accompany his/her son or daughter. You do not register for the parent too. Just click one for the number participating.
Space is limited to 50 students per session. Please register early.
There are two sessions:  Please click on the session for more information and to register.
