Easter Reminds us there is Everlasting Hope!
Nothing can take away from what our Lord did for us on the Cross, not even the Corona virus! Christ suffered, died and rose again, enduring pain, shame and death that you and I could realize eternal life and a loving relationship with God the Father.

There are many suffering loss in our neighborhoods, towns and cities. Only the hope of Christ can comfort that kind of pain. Not only are we all in this together but the Lord is with us as well! I pray God richly blesses each one reading this and your loved ones as well!

Happy Easter,

Your Friends at Father Woody's Haven of Hope
There are Hero's in our Midst
COVID-19 has changed the world as we know it. There is a constant barrage of bad news, scary reports, finger pointing and grief for lost loved ones associated with COVID-19. In the midst of all that is heartbreaking, there are heroes stepping up to the front line to serve in spite of their own personal risk. It goes without saying that our health care workers, first responders, law enforcement, etc., are at the top of that list, but Father Woody's has heroes too! Not only has our healthy staff refused to give up on our homeless community, but they have served with joy! We have been short staffed since the outbreak of the coronavirus but that hasn't stopped us from providing 300-500 meals a day, continuing our mail service, handing out hygiene kits, and pet food - if we have it and a guest needs it we give it to them. Why? Because that's our mission! We are here to serve, not to judge.

The other heroes in our midst are some of the most amazing volunteers we could hope for! We have volunteers that can't come and be with us physically so they get together, make sack lunches and drop them off every day. Others have sewn us masks and donated gloves to keep our staff safe! While our food bank deliveries have dropped off in volume, we have had a steady stream of private donors pulling up to our back door with cases of water, fruit, meat, baggies and lunch bags. Then there are the volunteers that have come day after day to work in our kitchen to help us put out a record number of meals each day! Without these loyal volunteers, we simply could not continue.

It takes all of us to continue this work! Some give money, some give time, others give prayer; remember Christ gave all so we could give some!

God Bless you!

Can You Sew?
Father Woody's Needs Masks
A few of our volunteers have graciously made masks for out staff and volunteers at Father Woody's. We would like to get more made to give to our guests to protect themselves as they go about our city. There are many DIY mask instructional videos available. If you are a quilter or just like to sew, this is a valuable way to support Father Woody's during this health crisis called COVID-19.
