Good Afternoon Parent Crew,
We have gotten off to a great start despite our brief water outage and the sky opening up at 3:45 with lightning and sheets of rain yesterday. It has been great to see the excitement of the students to kick the year off and to see the Crew culture that is being built in each classroom and school-wide. I appreciate everyone's patience in the parking lot as we all readjust to our pick up/ drop off lines. I know it can be inconvenient but our goal is the safety of our students.
I just want to explain a few of our processes briefly around communication. We have a number of systems in place to communicate with you as parents and ensure you are informed. One is this "Weekly Update" that is sent out on Fridays. This typically contains a message from me as well as upcoming events and opportunities for your families. Next, we use a back and forth folder that your child will bring home each Thursday. In this, you will see completed work from your child, communications from PTO, hard copy newsletters from various DCSD department or student leadership groups, etc... @pinelaneelementary) We try hard to keep these two online resources up to date with all information that might get lost in your email inbox.
We hope you have an excellent weekend and cannot wait to see the whole school in action on Monday as Kindergartners will be celebrating their first full-day of class.
