EPA Upcoming Funding Opportunity

In February, EPA will release a call for applications for its Clean Ports Program. This program will make $2.6 billion available for the zero-emissions equipment and infrastructure and $300 million available for climate and air quality planning projects.

The National Clean Cities Program is opening another “Jumpstart” funding round with applications due February 9. Jumpstart funds are available for projects that are not on the list of required deliverables for Clean Cities Coalitions. The Mullen ONE was one of the displays at the ZEV Truck Ride & Drive co-hosted by Sacramento Clean Cities and Enoven on December 6 at the Maidu Community Center in Roseville.

Coal Use Soaring Worldwide

Despite Climate Envoy John Kerry’s passionate pleas, worldwide use of coal for power production is growing. Over 50% of worldwide coal use growth is happening in China. Ironically, much of the demand for this power comes from the energy necessary to extract and process minerals for electric vehicles, solar panels and wind turbines.
