Sac Metro Air District Extends Deadline for Supplemental Environmental Impact Program Applications
|
|
The Sac Metro Air District has extended the deadline for applications for their Supplemental Environmental Impact Program until August 30. Up to $140,000 will be available. Eligible projects include:
- 6Air Pollution Prevention or Reduction:
- Air Quality Related Education or Compliance Training:
- Community Air Monitoring:
- Environmental Restoration and Protection:
- Projects considered on a case-by-case basis if there is a demonstrated substantial health or environmental benefit and are consistent with the District SEP Policy.

The CEC is hosting a virtual workshop on a program to improve utilities ability to control Time Of Use (TOU) of grid electricity. The program, know,as MIDAS, is expected to be able to measure electrical use down to the level of specific appliances in homes and businesses.

California Building Decarbonization Assessment
|
|
The CEC has completed their initial report titled, “The California Building Decarbonization Assessment” that analyzes strategies to reduce the use of combustion appliances and equipment to achieve a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030. The conclusion is that this can be implemented equitably with state and local officials, utilities, environmental justice organizations, equipment manufacturers and distributors, financiers, and community leaders working together.

CARB Advance Clean Fleets Regulation
|
|
CARB will hold a virtual workshop on the updated cost assumptions for the Advance Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation on September 9 from 9am - 4pm. The ACF will mandate that fleets purchase increased percentages of zero emission vehicles between 2024 and 2040.
|

CARB Community Listening Session
|
|
CARB will hold a virtual listening session on August 31 from 5pm - 7pm to hear community concerns, experiences, and/or suggestions for how CARB’s truck-related efforts can benefit all Californians. CARB is currently working on several regulations that will require trucks to move from combustion fuels to electricity over the next 10 - 25 years, and require fleets to make the move more quickly.

California Department of Housing and Community Development

|
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has submitted proposed building standards to the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC). There is a 45 day comment period open from August 13 to September 27.

Ford NorCal Introduction of Lightning Pickup Truck
|
|
Ford will host a Northern California introduction of the E-F150 “Lightning” pickup truck, the E-Transit and their 2022 Police Pursuit Vehicle on September 13 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Two tour times are available for the 2.5 hour event: 12:10pm and 12:45pm. Ford’s 2022 Pursuit Vehicle will also be on display at the NorCal Fleet Academy and Expo, October 6 & 7 at UTI in Sacramento.
