PG&E Multi-Unit Dwelling Charger Program
|
|
For sites located in prioritized communities, PG&E will install Level 1 and Level 2 chargers at no cost for multifamily housing units, not-for-profit organizations, and small businesses. The program includes an education campaign for site residents and employees to increase awareness about the charger installation and other EV benefits and incentives.

Newsom Administration Announced Clean Truck Partnership
|
|
CARB has agreed to allow a longer period for 0.2g/bhp-hr engines to be produced and provide a longer period between emission standards reductions. In return, the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) and Ford Motors have agreed to meet the requirements of the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule and ZEV sales mandates, even if CARB loses litigation and rescinds these requirements. They have also agreed not to support any litigation opposing these regulations.

EPA 2023 Clean School Bus (CSB) Grant Program
|
|
- $400 million in competitive grant funding for zero-emission school buses, clean school buses, and EVSE.
- Two grant categories: school district and Tribal applicants; and third-party applicants.
- Priority given to replace buses serving high-need local education agencies, rural areas, Tribal school districts and public school districts receiving basic support payments for students living on Tribal land, and rural areas.
- At least 40% of the funding will go to disadvantaged communities.
- Grant deadline: Tuesday, August 22.

Sac Metro Air District Funds Hydrogen Locomotive Project
|
|
Davis-based Sierra Northern Railway has received a grant from the Sac Metro Air District and the California State Transportation Authority to convert three diesel switch locomotives operating in West Sacramento to hydrogen power. Sierra Northern would like to eventually power their entire fleet of 260 switch locomotives on hydrogen.

Terex is introducing their all electric bucket truck. The Terex bucket lift is installed on an International Class 7 BEV. The Terex bucket lift is powered by the Viatech ePTO.

GM has voiced concerns over the auto industry’s ability to meet the proposed EV implementation rate being mandated by the EPA.

Volvo Biodiesel Commitment for Ocean-Going Vessels
|
|
Volvo has committed to using biodiesel in the ocean-going vessels delivering production materials and parts to Volvo factories in the US and Europe, cutting their global CO2 emissions from shipping by 84%.

EPA Receives Comments from Renewable Fuels Producers
|
|
The US EPA has received comments from a wide range of renewable fuels producers and from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation expressing concerns about a single focus on battery-electric transportation technologies.

Flying Car Given FAA Clearance
|
|
The two-seat, $300K, vertical take off “Model A” EV from San Mateo-based Alef Aeronautics has received the FAA “Special Airworthiness Certification” allowing prototypes to fly under special conditions. The Model A will also need to be certified by the FHWA as a car.
