Hertz Selling Z06 Corvettes

Hertz has started selling off their custom-packaged 650hp V8 Corvettes. Hertz commissioned 100 numbered 2019 Z06 vettes. They are not alt fuel, but they are a $95K like-new car, under 20,000 miles and selling for under $60K. Apparently Hertz had these cars equipped with automatic transmissions because they didn’t want to replace clutches after every rental!!!

USPS Delays Production For Trucks

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is delaying their $6B contract award to build 180,000 community mail delivery vehicles by several months. There are four companies competing for the award including Karsan, Mahindra, Workhorse and Oshkosh.

The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) has done extensive research and published a report on the cost of under inflated tires and the savings possible with Automatic Tire Inflation Systems.

Resato is a Dutch manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations with installations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, now developing a market in North America. The Resato hydrogen systems have a small footprint, low capex and can be transported.

Seven Japanese companies have joined forces to build the world’s first battery-electric tanker ship, scheduled to launch in the Spring of 2022. The ship will use a 3.5MW lithium-ion battery, and will not an intercontinental tanker, but will instead be smaller and operate in coastal waters.

For the week ending 5/15/20, refineries in California produced 229,740 gallons of gasoline and 95,340 gallons of diesel. This represents another INCREASE in gasoline production of 10%, but a 7% decrease in diesel production from last week, almost erasing the 10% increase from last week.
