CEC GFO-23-607 - Tribal Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, Planning, and Workforce Development
  • The purpose of this solicitation is to provide funding for Tribes, Tribal Organizations, and Tribally-owned businesses for:
  • Project Activity 1 – EV Charging Infrastructure: installing charging infrastructure for passenger and medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) EV charging equipment, supporting infrastructure, and associated resiliency technologies.
  • Project Activity 2 – EV Infrastructure Planning: activities to support tribal participation in future EV funding opportunities and to enable tribes to plan for EV adoption.
  • Project Activity 3 – EV Workforce Training and Development: activities that support careers in EVs, EV infrastructure, and EV-related technologies.
  • $400,000 - $3,000,000 per award ($10,000,000 total)
  • SUBMISSION DEADLINE April 24, 2024

Guardian Yards, an industrial outdoor storage and truck parking yard operator, has announced it is introducing electric vehicle charging stations for truck fleets at its 25-acre truck parking depot adjacent to Sacramento’s Metro Air Park. Guardian Yards welcomes potential EV Charging partners to contact them.

DOE Reports Annual New Light-Duty EV Sales Topped 1 Million in 2023
Annual sales of EVs more than quadrupled from 2020 to 2023, with more than one million EV sales in 2023. Cumulative sales of new light-duty plug-in electric vehicles since 2010 reached 4.7 million.

The US Postal Service will add six right-hand drive Canoo LDV 190 BEV vans to their growing fleet of electric postal delivery vehicles. The LDV 190 has a range of 200 miles.

SAMSARA Gets BAR Approval
SAMSARA Telematics has been approved to participate in the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) Continuous Testing Program (CTP) allowing enrolled vehicles to bypass smog emissions testing.

IRS EVSE Tax Credits Expanded
The IRS has announced new guidance that expands the EVSE tax credit to sites catering to motorcycles, e-bikes and e-trikes. The tax credit now applies to each charger at a site instead of to the overall site, and eligible census tracts can be in either low-income communities or non-urban areas.

PepsiCo's Tesla Semi Trucks in Sacramento
PepsiCo operates 21 Tesla all-electric Semi trucks out of their Sacramento Distribution Center, where they also have 750kW chargers for their trucks.
