Clean Truck Check (aka "HD Smog Check")
|
|
CARB has posted a Reporting Database webpage with a link to the California Clean Truck Check, Vehicle Inspection System (CTC-VIS) Portal. Any vehicle subject to Clean Truck Check must be reported in the database by December 31, 2023 and the annual compliance fee of $30 per vehicle must be paid by December 31, 2023.

The CEC’s GFO 23-605 is seeking an administrator to run the $375M ZEV School Bus infrastructure grant program. The CEC will conduct a Pre-Application Workshop on Nov 28 at 9 AM via Zoom.

Nissan EV Owner Interviews
|
|
Nissan is seeking EV owners who reside in single family homes to interview about the potential for vehicle-to-home power. No prep is necessary for the 30 minute interview and selected candidates will receive $50.

DOE Announces Battery Tech Funding
|
|
The US DOE has announced $3.5 billion to boost domestic production of advanced batteries, battery materials and to fund new, retrofitted, and expanded domestic facilities for battery-grade processed critical minerals, battery precursor materials, battery components, and cell and pack manufacturing.

Mercedes Benz Model Charging Plaza
|
|
Mercedes Benz has built the first of what they intend to be a network of charging plazas. Plaza one has restrooms and vending machines and is located is at the MB headquarters in Georgia. All plaza chargers will be 400kW DCFC. The next few plazas will be in Texas, Florida and Alabama. MB expects to have 400 sites by 2030.

Honda will add the CR-V to the Clarity as fuel cell cars, and is planning on putting fuel cell drivetrains into Isuzu trucks, with pilots starting in 2024 and full commercial production in 2027. Honda is also targeting hydrogen combustion engines.

Toyota has confirmed that it will source new battery materials from batteries that are recycled at Redwood Materials.
|
|
As reported in “Recurrent” the Audi E-Tron had the best cold-weather range with a 16% drop compared to ideal temperatures. The Nissan Leaf had an 18% loss. The Tesla 3, X and Y lost 24%, the Bolt lost 42% and the VW ID.4 lost the most at a 46% drop.
