Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition will do our part by continuing to provide information and partnerships using virtual meetings and digital communications.
Sacramento Clean Fuel Technology Workshop
8/24- The 2020 Green Technology Summit and Expo
  • has been rescheduled to August 24-26 due to coronavirus.
  • Originally scheduled for April 13 – 15.
  • Sac Clean Cities Coalition Stakeholders qualify for a registration discount if they use SACCC30. This year’s event will be combined with the US EPA’s West Coast Collaborative Partner’s Meeting, and will include fleet focused sessions on recruiting, training and keeping technicians, regulatory policies, renewable fuels including renewable hydrogen, and the future of mobility.

US Gain To Supply RNG To Seattle-Tacoma Airport
US GAIN, a Sacramento Clean Cities sponsor, will be supplying the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) for their fleet of buses and for heating the terminals.

EnvisionSolar Solar Powered EV Charger
EnvisonSolar, sponsors of the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, have demonstrated the versatility of their EV ARC. The solar-powered EV chargers are off-grid so can be readily relocated, and the City of Oakland was able to redeploy their EV ARC units to power a Covid19 medical response facility.

Virginia Transportation CNG Station For Sale
Alabama Clean Cities Coalition stakeholder Virginia Transportation (VT), a nationwide auto transport company, has a complete state-of-the-art CNG station for sale. The station can be viewed in a YouTube video and complete station specifications are also available.

Volvo and Daimler Fuel Cell Trucks
Volvo Trucks and Daimler (owner of Mercedes, Freightliner and Western Star) have signed an agreement to develop and sell hydrogen fuel cell trucks. Both companies are committed to moving zero-emission and CO2-neutral technologies into heavy-duty trucking.

Autonomous Delivery Vehicle
California’s DMV has issued a permit to Nuro, a startup autonomous vehicle company. Nuro will use their low-speed “R2” vehicle to deliver food in nine California cities.

WAVE Wireless Charging
The US Department of Energy has awarded a grant to the Utah-based wireless inductive charger company, WAVE, to develop, deploy and demonstrate their XMEG high energy wireless charging technology at the Port of Los Angeles. WAVE will partner with Cummins and Schneider Electric to use a 500kW inductive charger on drayage trucks operated by Total Transport Services, Inc. (TTSI). Trucks equipped with special undercarriage pickup pads will be able to top-up charge when parked over the in-ground wireless inductive charging systems.

Long Range EVs Challenge the Grid
A study by Fleetcarma is showing that the growing number of long range EVs (led by the Tesla Model 3) is creating a major challenge to the grid. The vehicles don’t necessarily charge for long periods of time, but when charging, they draw up to twice as much power.

Ford EV Capabilities
Ford is building a “Cobra Jet 1400” dragster to demonstrate the capabilities of EVs. Although they only plan to build one, it will be a monster. At 1,400hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque, it will do the quarter in just over 8 seconds and cross the line at over 170mph...that is if they can figure out how to keep the wheels on and the tires from melting!

GM Discontinuing Car Share Service
GM has announced that they are discontinuing their car share service, Maven. GM launched the service in 2016 but has decided to end their car share experiment .

While the average weight of new cars is 1% higher today than in 1975, and the average horsepower is 78% higher, the average fuel economy for new cars is 95% BETTER !

Refineries Report
For the week ending 4/17/20, refineries in California produced 194,334 gallons of gasoline and 117,012 gallons of diesel. This represents an INCREASE in gasoline production of 3.3% but a DECREASE in diesel production of 8.6%.
