Lyft will expand their business customers’ ability to reserve trips in EVs from their current pilot location in Portland to 14 more cities including Sacramento. Riders with a business email will be able to use Lyft’s “Green” mode to request that their trips be driven in electric vehicles.

CARB Public Hearing to Approve the Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation (ACF)
|

- Requires fleet owners to transition to zero-emissions medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Affected fleets include drayage truck operators, State and local government, federal government, fleets that own, operate, or control a total of 50 or more vehicles with a GVWR greater than 8,500 pounds or are entities with $50 million or more in gross annual revenue.
- Regulation covers medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, off-road yard trucks, and light-duty mail and package delivery vehicles.

Sac Metro Air District Funds 21 Tesla Semi Trucks
|
|
The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District provided a $4.5M grant to help PepsiCo acquire 18 Tesla Semi trucks and install high energy chargers at the Pepsi beverage distribution plant in Sacramento. Other funding for the vehicles came from state and federal programs. In total, Pepsi put 21 Tesla semi trucks into service in Sacramento. Pepsi hosted a ribbon cutting event in Sacramento on Tuesday, April 12.

The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid is coming with a larger battery pack giving it a 44 mile ZEV range and a 51mpg rating on the ICE.

Toyota has announced plans to increase the range of their upcoming plug-in hybrids up to 120 miles of BEV operation before the ICE begins operating.

Elon Musk has said that the Tesla Cyber Truck is dead, that he never should have pushed it forward as a product, and that what truck buyers want is what they have clearly stated by making the F150 the most popular pickup for 50 years. So he will make a truck that will carry a sheet of plywood, tow a camper and have room for five and a dog!

Walmart has announced plans to install thousands more chargers to the 1,300 already installed at Walmart and Sam’s Club stores.

Used EV Sales Surge: Cox Automotive has reported that used EV sales were up 32% in Q1 of 2023. As new EVs with new features hit the market, current EV owners are trading in their used EVs, leading to a growing number of used EVs in the marketplace.
