Lion Electric Awarded Heavy Duty Battery Electric Vehicles
Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor, Lion Electric, has been awarded two heavy-duty battery electric vehicles on the state of California's Department of General Services (DGS) contract. The vehicles are the Lion8, a 3-axle cab/chassis with a GVWR of 54,600 and a range of 250 miles; and the Lion-BEV Refuse Truck, a Lion8 cab/chassis with a Boi vin Évolution automated refuse body that is 100% electric.

Cummins Supplies CNG Transit Buses
Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor, Cummins Westport, supplied LA Metro Transit with Alt Low-NOx Natural Gas engines to repower a large number of buses, reducing NOx emissions by 90% and GHG emissions by 9%.

LG Chem Looking for Sites for Second US Battery Factory
LG Chem is evaluating several sites in the US for a new factory to supply batteries to Volvo, Fiat, Chrysler, and potentially Hyundai and VW. The new factory would augment production levels at LG's one US plant in Michigan supplying batteries to GM for the Bolt.

Starsky Robotics operated a Class 8 truck 9.4 miles on a public highway in Florida with no driver on board, with operators monitoring the vehicle using remote control technology.

Tesla's Model 3 Lineup All Receive Highest Safety Rating
Some very good news for Tesla: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the entire Tesla model lineup their highest safety rating, and Tesla has released a CHAdeMO adapter that will allow Model 3s to charge at many non-Tesla DC Fast Chargers.

Electrify America has proposed that a new emoji be certified by the Unicode Consortium. The emoji would, "...help more people get used to the idea of driving an EV..." according to Rich Steinberg at Electrify America.
