CARB Advanced Clean Cars Regulation Workshop

CARB will conduct a workshop on the Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) regulation Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 4pm - 6pm. This regulation will reduce criteria and greenhouse gas emissions from new light- and medium-duty vehicles beyond the 2025 model year.

CARB Heavy-Duty Enhanced Inspection and Maintenance Regulation Workshop
|
|
CARB has posted the proposed Heavy-duty Enhanced Inspection and Maintenance regulation, and will be holding a workshop on proposed regulation on August 3, 2021 from 9am - 12noon. Heavy-duty vehicles will be required to have regular emission testing, including out-of-state vehicles operating in California.

Del Norte County CEC Comments
|

Low-income Communities are sometimes excluded from state grant funding criteria. Del Norte County has advised the CEC that the criteria used for identifying areas for grant eligibility has excluded very low-income communities in areas that lack transportation solutions. While Del Norte is a rural area, this same problem may exist for some metropolitan communities as well.

Cummins is developing a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine, and has announced that they have an entirely new engine platform that will allow them to maximize efficiency and energy density. This near-zero emission engine will be demonstrated in on-road and off-road vehicles.

Ford Introduction of E-F150 Lightning Pickup Truck

Ford will host a Northern California introduction of the E-F150 “Lightning” pickup truck, the E-Transit and their 2022 Police Pursuit Vehicle on September 13 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Two tour times are available for the 2.5 hour event: 12:10pm and 12:45pm.

Rivian to Build Manufacturing Facility

Rivian has announced that they have completed a $2.5B funding effort, and with this new funding, they intend to build a second manufacturing facility. They also announced production delays with their R1T electric pickup and their R1S electric SUV.
