DOE Fuel Economy Guide
The US DOE , the Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition partner and oversight agency, has produced their 2020 Fuel Economy Guide with light-duty vehicle fuel economy and estimated annual fuel cost information. Included in the guide are fuel economy and costs for vehicles using alternative fuels.

Ford To Bring Mach-E To Nascar
Ford is planning to bring their Mach-E 1400 to NASCAR, not to race but to show off their seven-motor, 1,400 hp car that will serve at least two functions: show the world what kind of power and performance EVs can deliver, and allow Ford to experiment with various motor and drivetrain configurations.

Tesla Battery Change
Tesla will use Nickel-cobalt-aluminum batteries in the Tesla Semi because of their energy density to weight benefits, and switch the Model 3s manufactured in China to Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP). This will make it possible for commercial introduction of the Semi in 2021.

Tesla also announced that they will build their next Giga Factory in Austin, Texas, where they will build the Cybertruck, the Semi and several car models for the Eastern US.

Hybrid Electric Vertical Take Off and Land Aircraft
The Sabrewing Aircraft Company has introduced a hybrid-electric Vertical Take Off and Land (VTOL) aircraft in May that is capable of carrying 10,000 points of freight to almost any site. Sabrewing already has 65 orders.

Refineries Report
For the week ending 7/17/20, refineries in California produced 263,760 gallons of gasoline and 75,264 gallons of diesel. Gasoline production DECREASED by 17% and diesel production DECREASED by 9% from last week’s production numbers.
