The CARB board has directed staff to draft new regulatory language in the Advanced Clean Fleets regulation to provide greater flexibility for public agencies.The redrafted language is due by winter, 2023.

Fuel Economy Improvements and GHG Reductions
|
|
Improving the fuel economy of a heavy truck from 10 to 15 mpg will save 33 gallons for every 1,000 miles driven. The same 5 mpg improvement from 30 to 35 mpg in a car saves 5 gallons, and gallons reduced equals GHG reduced.
