Cummins Provides Engines in Class 8 Trucks For Port of Long Beach Opening Parade
Cummins, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor provided the engines in Class 8 Near Zero Emission (NZE) trucks from Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt and Volvo in a parade at the opening of the Port of Long Beach bridge. When running on renewable natural gas, these trucks will have no diesel toxic emissions, nearly unmeasurable smog-forming emissions and net negative greenhouse gas emissions as they travel through the Disadvantaged Communities near the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.

Motiv Power Systems, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor that has delivered 10 heavy-duty battery electric trucks to fleets in Sacramento, has delivered a unique Mobile Preschool “Magic Bus” to the Vail Valley Foundation in Colorado. SACOG Approves $193M for Transportation Projects
SACOG, the Sacramento Area Council of Governments has approved $193M for transportation projects in Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties. SACOG has also announce the relaunch of shared bikes and scooters provided by Lime Bikes in Sacramento, West Sacramento and coming soon to Davis.

Suburban Propane Purchases 39% Stake in Oberon Fuels
Suburban Propane, the third largest propane distribution company in the United States, has purchased a 39% interest in Oberon Fuels. Oberon produces DME, a renewable fuel similar to propane with a projected Carbon Intensity value of -278. DME can be blended with propane, and both DME and propane can be produced as renewable fuels.

Rivian will be selling 100,000 electric delivery vans to Amazon by 2030, and Amazon has announced that they expect to begin buying and operating these vehicles in 2021.

DOE Launches Two Initiatives To Implement Hydrogen Fuel Cell Development
The US DOE has launched two initiatives to implement their recent announcement to invest $100M in hydrogen fuel cell truck development. The two initiatives are the Million Mile Fuel Cell Truck (­M2FCT) centered at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore National Labs, and the H2NEW centered at NREL and Idaho National Labs.

Refineries Report
California Refineries: For the week ending 10/2/20, refineries in California produced 6,870 barrels of gasoline and 2,365 barrels of diesel. Gasoline production was up by 3.9% and diesel production was up by 7.1% from last week’s production numbers. The 10/5/20 wholesale spot price of propane on the Mont Belvieu Texas board was 51¢ per gallon.
