SMUD New Program: Charging as a Service
SMUD is offering a new program, “Charging as a Service” (CaaS) that provides commercial electric vehicle advisory services, including technical evaluation and cost estimates, electrical engineering/design and construction services, as well as network and hardware options, full maintenance of charging systems, and financing options.

CARB’s ZEV Freight & Marine Grant is now open. This is a $34M first-come, first-served scrap-and-replace program under the VW Environmental Mitigation TrustScrap. Eligible projects include: heavy-lift forklifts, port cargo handling equipment and airport ground support equipment.

SRECTrade has helped the City of Porterville measure, package and submit for Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits for their light-duty charging stations. Porterville received more than $65,000 in 2020 back from the state and they anticipate that their partnership with SRECTrade will net over $100K in 2021. Frontier Energy is working with the University of Texas on a DOE-funded project designed to show that renewable hydrogen can be a cost-effective fuel for fuel cell vehicles, stationary power and energy storage.

Neste Moving to Commercializing Renewable Gasoline
Neste is in the final phase of testing as they move to commercializing renewable gasoline. Neste was one of the first companies to develop and commercialize renewable diesel. Their bio-based gasoline will reduce GHG by 65% over conventional gasoline, and Neste has development plans to bring the GHG reductions to 90% under conventional gasoline.
