  • 400 mayors across the U.S. formed "Climate Mayors" in 2014 and launched the Electric Vehicle (EV) Purchasing Collaborative to make public fleet electrification more affordable. Climate Mayors has developed a webinar about how EV procurement can be facilitated.

Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition Sponsors Making the News!
Sacramento Among Top Leading Fleets
The top 50 "Leading Fleets" have been announced by Government Fleet on June 18 at the Government Fleet Expo (GFX) in New Orleans. Six California fleets were in the top 20; with Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition members, the City of Sacramento ranked 4th and the County of Sacramento ranked 13th.

Fleets working hard to reduce emissions and greenhouse gases can be recognized for their efforts by entering the "Green Fleet Awards." The top 50 winners will be announced at the Sustainable Fleet Technology Conference & Expo on August 6 in Durham, NC.

Jaguar Land Rover Will Introduce Electric Sedan
Jaguar Land Rover will introduce their 2020 XJ sedan as an electric competitor to the Tesla in 2020. The luxury sedan is expected to have a 90.2kWh battery pack, giving the car nearly 300 miles of range.

China Restricts EV Companies
The Chinese government is exerting some central government control to restrict the number of EV companies to companies that have built 15,000 EVs in the past two years, have invested more than $580M in research in the past three years, have hundreds of millions of dollars of capital on-hand and have over 50,000 orders per year.

Department of Transportation Proposes Update to Inspection Requirements
The US DOT is proposing to update CNG tank inspection requirements for heavy-duty vehicles, going to an annual rather than a mileage based major inspection.
