DOE Announces Technical Assistance Program
The DOE has announced “LEAP,” a technical assistance program to assist low-income communities impacted by high energy costs that are also impacted by emissions from fossil fuel production or industrial facilities. 24 - 36 communities around the US will be selected to receive assistance.

Community Air Grant Application
CARB’s Community Air Grant Program application deadline is October 1, 2021. The goal of the grants is to assist with community engagement and outreach related to AB 617. Typical projects may include (but are limited to):
  • Hiring consultants or technical experts;
  • Travel and logistical support for hosting or attending meetings;
  • Support for community operated air monitoring;
  • Data collection and analysis
CEC Grid-Interactive Efficient Building (GEB) Workshops

Toyota and Ford's Hybrid Pickups
Toyota will introduce the Tundra iForce Max hybrid in 2022 with nearly identical horsepower and torque compared to the Ford F150 PowerBoost hybrid. The iForce Max will have 437hp & 583 lb-ft of torque. The PowerBoost will have 430hp & 570 lb-ft of torque. The Ford will also be able to function as a genset to export power.

ZEV Truck TCO
A recent study by the National Energy Renewable Lab (NREL) comparing Class 4 through 8 diesel, natural gas, BEV and FCV trucks concludes that BEVs will have lower TCO than diesel and BEVs for shorter range operations if they have long daily periods when they can sit to recharge; And FCVs will have lower TCO than diesel ro BEVs for longer range operations and operations that do not allow for long daily recharge periods.

Honda Prologue EV in 2024: Honda will debut their EV line in 2024 with the “Prologue,” a midsize SUV. The platform and powertrain will be engineered by GM using the Ultium battery packs. Range is expected to be around 300 miles, and the price is expected to start at $45K.
