Habitat for Neighborhood Business (HNB) partners with volunteer business professionals and Saint Louis University to help restore economic vitality to under-served neighborhoods through mentoring, networking, and education for existing and aspiring minority entrepreneurs.

Treinnea Harris - Paton Redevelopment Series LLC

Treinnea Harris is the owner of Paton Redevelopment Series LLC. Her company provides new residential homes, small commercial projects, and rehabs/renovation of existing homes in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. The company's mission is to provide new homes to communities that have outdated or low appraised existing homes.

Monica Butler - The Butler Group

Monica Butler is the owner of the Butler Group, a full scale multi film production company. She has worked in television, theatre and film production for over 25 years. Monica has produced for BET,(Black Entertainment Television), and Tyler Perry Stage Play Productions, among other production projects. Monica has also produced her own projects through The Butler Group and Echelon Media Production.

Board Member of the Month

Robyn Heidger

Robyn Heidger, an HNB Board member, has served on the board for 4 years. She is the SVP of Strategic Alliances & Inclusion for Enterprise Bank. Her expertise in developing strategic alliances and building relationships with community groups and organizations representing diverse interests has greatly benefitted HNB.

She says "The model that HNB has created to support minority entrepreneurs makes so much sense - and the people involved are really passionate about the success of those we serve. It's inspiring to witness the passion, grit, and creativity of our entrepreneurs."

New Marketing Intern

Alyssa Jimenez

Our newest HNB Intern, Alyssa Jimenez, is a rising senior at Saint Louis University. She is studying Marketing with minors in Business Analytics and Service Leadership. In addition to HNB, Alyssa is the VP of Alumni Relations for Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity, and is also the Public Relations Chair for the Marketing Club. She also works for a digital marketing company in St. Louis called Coegi where she pursues her social media marketing interests. Alyssa says, “I want to combine my love for service and business to give back to the St. Louis community during my last academic year.” We are so excited to see what Alyssa is going to bring to the table!

SLU Service Leadership/HNB Collaboration

HNB Program Director, Gladys Smith, collaborated with the St. Louis University Service Leadership Manager, Ben Smyth, to create an opportunity for SLU Business students to connect with the entrepreneurs in the HNB program. Ben implemented the program into a course where the students work personally with HNB business owners to complete a business needs assessment. At the end of the course, the students will give presentations on their findings to share with the entrepreneurs. This project gives students a first-hand experience of the world of an entrepreneur, and it offered the entrepreneurs assistance to enhance their businesses.
