INTERCESSORY PRAYER AVAILABLE ON SUNDAYS

Bill and Linda White have been members at SHUMC for two years, sing in the choir and are offering a time on Sundays following the 10:00 A.M. service for Intercessory Prayer.

Intercessory Prayer is an opportunity to have someone assist you and praying for vital concerns. All requests remain confidential unless permission is given to share with others. Since confidentially is maintained, there is no limit as to what subject can be addressed,

Bill and Linda have been doing this for about 19 years at large and small churches where they were members. In the future, they hope to offer opportunities for other individuals to join them as intercessors in this worthwhile endeavor. Rest assured you will be trained before taking on
this task.

If you are interested or would like more information, you may contact them via email blwhite32@cox.net or by phone at 623-688-7417.

LEARNING TO PRAY STUDY

Learning to Pray is a six week study to learn practices of prayer from many traditions and times. The study will be led by Rev. Richard Northup and will begin on Wednesday, June 12 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fellowship Hall Meeting Room. The study will be using Teresa A. Blythe's book, "50 Ways to Pray." Purchase of the book is optional ($12.50) in the church office. Sign up on the sheet outside the church office.
Can I Trust God with My Health?

Life's storms have a way of challenging our faith in God's provision and guiding hand. This study invites us to address a variety of questions about health and faith, by looking at Scripture, theological positions, the reality of the world around us and our own lives. We will make time to discern how the answers to these questions alter our relationship with God. Finally we will choose how we want to apply our leanings. Some of the topics included are Health, Disability, Stress and Sleep.

Once you sign up for this class, please pick up your reading materials at the church office.

Suggested Reading Materials contribution: $6.00
From July 25 to August 29
Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.
