Dear Members, Partners and Community at Large,
As we face the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, our thoughts
naturally turn to the wellbeing of those most important to us. There is a time
to travel and a time to keep close to family and home, and we hope yours
remain as safe and secure as possible through this crisis.
For our Hotels, Restaurants, Bed & Breakfast, Short Term Rentals, Theatres,
Wineries, Retailers and each one of us that belong to the huge tourism
industry of NOTL, the safety and security of our guests and staff is always
paramount, and never more so than at a time like this.
Mostly all operations have been halted, looking ahead we are constantly
monitoring the evolution of the situation and we are continuing to reach out to
all our businesses with affected bookings and events.
Last week Town’s media release of June 30th refers to town owned
properties. The town was receiving many calls and emails regarding when
the community centre and other town owned properties would be reopening.
Many other municipalities have decided the June date as well.
The hotels and other tourism businesses are to follow the Provincial essential
list and the Province set dates on that and as soon as it will be deem safe we
can reopen our facilities.
For those of us who have faced many previous challenges, even if the height
of each situation seems as though it may never end, we know that we will get
through. As long-time industry veterans, we believe in the value of tourism,
and we look forward to welcoming our guests with open arms when the time
is right.
In the meantime, please know how much we appreciate your passion for our
industry and for Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Be well, stay healthy
The Team at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism NOTL
