The Boone County War Memorial Association (BCWMA)
will sponsor the Memorial Day Commemorative Event at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 27, 2019, at the gazebo on the Harrison courthouse lawn. Memorial Day is a time set aside to honor those military members who died in active military service. Lonnie Anderson will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Speakers will be Rick Erwin and Clayton Kops. Other presentations will be made and wreaths will be laid to honor our fallen military. This year the BCWMA will also honor the Gold Star Families whose husband, wife, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, or brother gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. A special canopy with seating will be reserved for these family members. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at The Lyric Theater.
The BCWMA is a non-profit organization and funding is made by private donations. The association’s main goal is to honor area fallen soldiers and to educate the public of the unselfish sacrifices made by the men and women of the United States Military.
