Esteemed Scholars, Thinkers and Readers - We are all aware of the manner in which COVID-19 has rendered the world into a lock-down and standstill. We are hereby announcing the cancellation of our Colloquium of end of 28th and 29th March 2020. We are severely impacted by this in terms of our calendar leading to our planned graduation in December this year.
However, we are confident that some of the alternative systems we have in place will work. These systems include collective or group sessions on ZOOM with students, new and old students separately and collectively - depending on the subject under discussion. These sessions we plan to have them at least as frequent as each subgroup determines BUT not less than once a month. We are further aware of the impacts of Load-shedding and how it will affect your ability to attend online sessions. We therefore request you to make it a practice to log-on to the Live Webinnar Centre on the VLE in your learning environment so that you may get used to it.
In view of the above - we request all of you to be ready for the meeting session on the 28 and 29 for a full 5 hour session per day, online via zoom on the link scheduled below:
In the meantime, please start to use transport money to the Colloquium for buying data for gigabytes, worth not more than R500, to allow you to go through the full training session.
For those requiring practice sessions please indicate so by sending me whatsap - after ensuring you have data on your device .
As a research centre we are continually monitoring the developments on the outbreak and with the team of experienced academics, epidemiologists, clinicians and public health specialists at the G-CAR Team we believe we will be always on top of things - THIS TOO SHALL PASS!
2020 - SIYAYA
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ISSUE CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE AT THE END OF THE SESSION FOR ALL THOSE REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE ON THE ONLINE PROGRAMME
