Call for Illustrator Conference Alumni!

Hello Illustrators! Did you participate in a portfolio review or illustrator intensive during the Creating Together Conference this past September?? If you did, then we would love to hear about how your work has developed since then. We will be holding a special meeting via Zoom after the first of the year to check in with you, learn how we can support you, and share images of any revision work you've done since the conference. Stay tuned for more!
Featured Illustrator: Alicia Schwab
With our continued presence in this virtual world, this month we are showing some cross-regional support for one of our conference alumni! After attending SCBWI in-person cons and Carolinas webinars, Alicia is grateful to have made many friends in the Carolinas region. Alicia Schwab is the illustrator of the Ladybug Magazine poem, “Tracks In the Snow" (issue January 2021) and the picture books TAKÓŽA: WALKS WITH THE BLUE MOON GIRL (Black Bears and Blueberries Publishing, 2020) and THE MUKLUK BALL (Minnesota Historical Press 2018). She also illustrated the middle grade novel, LITE: THE HIGH TREASON INCIDENT (Beaver’s Pond Press, 2022). More books here: https://www.aliciaschwab.com/books

Alicia holds a BFA in graphic design and fine art from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and later studied illustration under the direction of E. B. Lewis and Giuseppe Castellano. Alicia has been a member of SCBWI since 2001 and is a former Illustrator Coordinator for the Minnesota region.
