A frenuloplasty is a surgical alteration of the frenum when it restricts the range of motion of the tongue or lips. A lingual frenuloplasty helps with myofunctional therapy and the movement of the tongue which not only helps speech also improves sleep.
Maxillary labial frenuloplasty is needed due to large diastemas.
Dr Coats will help introduce what a hygienist can look for in patients needing frenuloplasty and how to present the treatment.
