We asked you, the members of our community, to nominate your friends, neighbors, local business owners, first responders, and children who work hard to make our home in the valley into a better place to live every day. You responded by sending us names and stories about many great people who go above and beyond and live or work in Wetzel, Tyler, or Monroe counties.

We then compiled these names and stories and we asked you to vote for a winner, and over 2000 of you did just that. Everyone nominated was deserving of recognition, and should you see one of them on the street, you should take a minute to thank them for what they do.

We will be hosting a small ceremony on Thursday, May 20, to present each of the winners with a certificate and $50 in Chamber Cash and Scholarships for our Youth Leaders. Please like us on Facebook to make sure you get to see the pictures from that event.

But we aren't going to make you wait any longer. We present to you the 2021 Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Winnners!
Mark your calendars! Business After Hours return next week, Tuesday, May 25th with a cookout event hosted by Swiss Valley Associates and our local Air Evac Life Team. The event will be held at the Air Evac hangar beside WVU Wetzel County Hospitals. The event will start at 5:30 PM and it is open to anyone affiliated with a member of the Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce!
It only seemed right to let our hosts for the upcoming Business After Hours have a chance to sponsor the Local Trivia Challenge. This week, our question comes from the Air Evac Life team. One randomly chosen person who submits the correct answer will win a $25 Chamber Cash Certificate which can be redeemed at over 30 local Stores and Restaurants.

This week's questions: What is the base number for Ari Evac's, "Wetzel Co. Base?"

If you think you know the answer, send it to us on Facebook as a private message or email Office@WetzelCountyChamber.com
Last week, Peoples Bank asked to give the origin of the name of Tyler Co. The answer is; Tylor County was named for John Tyler Sr., father of President John Tyler.

Thank you to all who played! The winner will be contacted later today and we will tell them how to pick up their $25 Chamber Cash Certificate and basket of Peoples bank treats.
