Summer Tennis has come and gone!

Kids Camp at Jackson Park this summer was a lot of fun....and HOT! These kiddos did a great job learning not only how to hit a ball but facts about how and where tennis started. Many thanks to Lynn Gilpin for teaching these classes as well as many volunteers! Thanks to Carol Rosner, Susan Baum, Denise Hathcock, Harry Hudson, Linda Cheshire, Jan Partin, Loretta Arrington, Elaine, Liddy, Cyndi Boyle, and Darlene Tribby for helping make this camp possible.

Two of our campers were brothers Isaac(12) and Joshua (10).

Summer Programs Offered by the Hendersonville CTA

Boys and Girls Club

Since school is starting soon, we finished up a summer camp at the Boys and Girls Club This clinic was for those that will be attending the middle school. We are hoping to get the students interested in tennis before they go to high school. This program gives the students some experience to succeed at a more competitive level.

Healthy Kids Day

Healthy Kids day was sponsored be the Hendersonville YMCA at Patton Park. We had around 200 children participate in tennis that day.

We had children as young as 2 and 3 come try tennis. There was so much interest from parents of children at this age... watch for a program for these little guys coming soon.

Salvation Army Summer Kids Camp

Another great day working with the children was at the Salvation Army Kids Camp. We had children from ages 5 - 16 learning how to play tennis. There was lots of talent in this group and I'm sure we'll see them on the courts again soon.

Also the CTA donates 2 scholarships to graduating Seniors from the county high schools and we've taught lessons to the Homeschoolers. We have been very busy and have loved every minute being with the children and teaching them tennis.
