CBFVA is committed to resourcing clergy and congregations. We are pleased to offer Pastors’ Roundtable, a unique opportunity for senior pastors to find encouragement for the journey and engage in conversation with a gifted and seasoned senior pastor. Dr. Mike Smith, an effective senior pastor for 45 years, will tour the state and share out of his myriad gifts and experiences while engaging participants in conversations that fosters rich cross-pollination. Here are some of the topics Mike will address (you bring the rest of the agenda):

  • Bringing balance to the pastor’s life 
  • Reflecting on “healthy” functioning
  • Speaking prophetically without being partisan
  • Pastoring in a time of incivility
  • Guiding and developing staff

Over 300 students from across the state will gather at Second Baptist Church in Richmond on March 27-29 for Mission Madness 2020. This event is CBFVA’s signature ministry, and we have intentionally chosen to offer only one site this year so we can celebrate ten years of learning and serving through this meaningful hands-on ministry.
