The Blue Impact

2025 Impact

Dear Philadelphia Police Foundation Friends,

As we close out 2025, the Philadelphia Police Foundation extends our sincerest gratitude for your incredible partnership. Your generosity is the engine behind our mission, providing the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) with the resources necessary to keep our city safe and our officers supported.

We are pleased to share that because of your unwavering commitment, the Foundation has allocated more than $900,000 in essential grant funding this year. These funds have been strategically deployed across five key areas of impact:

Mental Health & Wellness: Expanding peer support networks and professional healing sessions to ensure our officers remain resilient in the face of modern policing challenges.

Cutting-Edge Technology & Equipment: Equipping specialized units with the latest tools, from advanced drone technology to life-saving tactical gear.

Advanced Training & Professional Development: Advancing departmental excellence through executive leadership training, specialized professional development for officers and civilian staff, and providing major support for the PPD's first multi-year strategic plan, along with the Philadelphia Foundation and the Civic Coalition to Save Lives.

Community & Youth Engagement: Investing in the well-being of Philadelphia’s youth through educational scholarships, crisis-support partnerships with local schools, and positive community-building events with officers.

Recognition & Appreciation: Ensuring our officers feel valued and remembered by funding annual appreciation programs, service honors, and commemorative tributes to remember Fallen Officers.

Looking Toward a Historic 2026

While we celebrate the successes of 2025, our eyes are firmly on the horizon. Philadelphia is poised to serve as a world-class showcase in 2026. As our city prepares to host the world for the 250th Anniversary of the United States, the FIFA World Cup, and the MLB All-Star Game, the Foundation is committed to ensuring our officers have every resource they need to shine on this global stage.

Thank you for being a vital part of this journey and for making a tangible difference in the safety of our neighborhoods.

Warmest wishes for a happy and healthy New Year,

Maureen Rush

PPF In Action

Police Appreciation Days

In 2025, the Foundation held two major Police Appreciation Days to ensure every member of the department felt the community’s gratitude. Following our city-wide outreach to all Patrol Districts in September, we celebrated our second event on December 5th, specifically honoring the PPD Special Units. In a proud collaboration with Wawa, we delivered breakfast and lunch to officers and staff across 80 districts, units, and divisions. This initiative carries a simple but vital mission: ensuring every Philly Police Officer knows their service is truly valued!

PPD: Monthly Lunch and Learns

The Philadelphia Police Foundation is honored to support the monthly Lunch and Learn series, where employees of the Philadelphia Police Department engage in discussions on important and timely topics.

By providing a space for shared meals and meaningful dialogue, we are investing in a more informed, connected, and forward-thinking department.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we're able to support these important discussions for the men and women of the PPD throughout 2025.

Mayor Parker Visits PPF Board of Directors

We were honored to host Mayor Cherelle Parker at the Philadelphia Public Services Building for a highly productive Philadelphia Police Foundation Board of Directors meeting.

Her contagious energy and deep commitment to our city and its safety are evident, and we are incredibly grateful for her steadfast support of the Philadelphia Police Department and partnership with our foundation.

With Mayor Parker's leadership and the PPD's preparedness, we will be ready for Philadelphia to be center stage for the world in 2026 as we celebrate America's 250th!

Do you want to help PPF continue these valuable initiatives?

Supporter Spotlight: Korman Family

Linda Richardson Korman, Steve Korman, and Brad Korman have shown remarkable and long-lasting dedication to both the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) and the PPF’s mission. Their ongoing involvement has been transformative, blending generous donations with essential hands-on leadership to support those who protect our city.

The Korman Family’s contributions go beyond their generous financial support; they are driven by personal involvement and provide strategic funding for key initiatives. Their commitment of time and expertise is immensely valuable. Linda Richardson Korman and Brad Korman actively serve on the PPF Board of Directors, helping to shape the organization’s future. Over the years, the family has focused their resources on programs that deliver direct and significant aid to the PPD.

Thanks to their generous contributions and influential roles on the Board, the Korman Family has been vital to enabling the PPF to meet the most critical needs of the PPD. We sincerely thank Linda, Steve, and Brad Korman for their steadfast support and devoted service throughout the years.

High Impact Support

With support from PPF donors, the Foundation continues to fund critical technology, equipment, and programs for the PPD.

Shop with a Cop

This holiday season, the Philadelphia Police Foundation was proud to fund the largest Shop with a Cop event in our history. For the fifth consecutive year, we supported the PPD as they turned a simple shopping trip into an unforgettable experience for nearly 600 children.

Each child was paired with a Philadelphia Police Officer and provided with a $150 gift card to select gifts for themselves and their families. For many of these participants, this was their primary opportunity to celebrate the holidays with gifts. Beyond the shopping carts, the program builds a foundation of trust, allowing children to see officers as mentors and allies.

Your support did more than just provide toys — it created a space for positive connection and holiday magic that these children, and our officers, will never forget.

SWAT Shields

Funding from PPF is essential in supporting and safeguarding both the Philadelphia Police Department and the citizens of Philadelphia. With your support, PPF purchased three new ballistic shields for the SWAT Unit. We continue to hear stories of the important role these shields play in protecting lives by enhancing the safety of our brave SWAT team members as they confront dangerous situations, ultimately fostering a safer environment for everyone.
