20 Under 30 Highlights Young Professionals

First-Ever Publication Focuses On Those Excelling In Their Respective Careers

One of our objectives at Michigan Works! West Central is to prepare the workforce of tomorrow. According to a 2021, Gallup poll, Generation Z and Millennials (those ages 16-40) represent 46 percent of the U.S. workforce. That number is only going to increase as more Baby Boomers retire.

We recently partnered with Hearst Media to highlight young professionals in our region who are excelling in their respective fields! Our first-ever 20 Under 30 publication was released in late-May 2022, and shows off the next generation of workforce in our region!

"Thanks to the Michigan Works! staff, I was able to have a sense of reassurance wile making the long drive to work each day and night."

James does a lot of driving for work, and needs to have a reliable vehicle. However, his tires were wearing thin and he couldn't afford all new tires.

He came to Michigan Works! West Central to see how we could help. He was enrolled in the Wagner-Peyser program and funds from a local grant were able to help purchase set of four new tires for James' truck.

“Safety was a big concern of mine,” James said. “Thanks to the Michigan Works! staff I was able have a sense of reassurance while making the long drive to work each day and night.”
