University of Notre Dame Creates Dangerous Living Environment for Students
Notre Dame freshman, Sean Tennant, fell 30 feet over a stairwell balcony onto the concrete basement floor of his university owned and operated dorm. Sean survived the fall but suffered catastrophic brain injuries that will severely affect his neurocognitive and functional abilities for the rest of his life. Meyers & Flowers Partner, Peter J. Flowers, has teamed up with Indiana-based law firm, Hovde, Dassow & Deets to file negligence and wrongful conduct complaints against the University of Notre Dame on behalf of Sean Tennant.
They encourage the kids to act like the dorms are fraternities, where you’ve got kids of legal age mixed in with underage kids and inadequate policies and procedures in place, creating an unreasonably dangerous environment,” said Flowers.
Meyers & Flowers Continues to Seek Justice for Former NFL Players
Former football players had hoped that the 2017 National Football League's concussion agreement to pay out more than $1 billion in a settlement for victims that endured serious brain injuries would gain closure for their suffering. Unfortunately, the NFL showed unwillingness to payout fair compensation. Meyers & Flowers partners, Ryan P. Theriault and Peter J. Flowers will continue to fight for their clients until they are awarded the just and fair payment they deserve.
Seeking Justice for Victims of Medical Neglect and Cruel Practices While Detained in ICE Facility

For years, detained immigrants at the Irwin County Detention Center have reported a lack of medical care and unsanitary living conditions. Now a whistleblower is alleging the facility failed to follow mandated CDC guidelines to protect against COVID-19 and performed hysterectomies on detainees at an alarmingly high rate.
$3.5 Million Settlement for 25-Year-Old Man Injured in a Semi-Truck Collision
Meyers & Flowers partners, Craig D. Brown and James A. McPhedran, recently obtained a $3.5 million settlement on behalf of a 25-year-old man who sustained severe brain injuries after a collision with a tractor trailer that attempted to make a left turn across a rural highway in Central Illinois.
Meyers & Flowers Sponsors New Van
for Tuskegee NEXT
Ingrained in Meyers & Flowers culture is the need to support our community, in and out of the courtroom. Over the years, our firm has been honored to contribute to the inspiring work of Tuskegee NEXT and as of recently sponsor their new van. The vehicle will be used to transport Cadets during training while also driving youth without cars to activities to expose them to a future in aviation.

Continuing the legacy built by the Tuskegee Airmen, Tuskegee NEXT is on a mission to build the next generation of pilots through aviation education and career opportunities. The organization works to bridge the gap between the lack of economic prospects in African American communities and the growing need for pilots and experts in the aviation industry. The summer-long program guides at-risk students through various courses, including flight training and leadership development, free of charge. The program prepares the Cadets to earn their pilot’s licenses and launch them into an aviation career.
Meyers & Flowers is proud to work with Tuskegee NEXT to continue “building the future of the skies”.
