Can You Spare a Penny??
Even with the penny in short supply, Pennies for Pets will continue at the Cortez Farmers Market this year on Saturday July 11th. People have always generously donated dimes, quarters, and dollars, so hopefully that generosity will continue even when the penny is gone.
Events like Pennies for Pets and For Pets’ Sake Bake Sales help to improve our revenue, and more importantly provide an opportunity to talk to supporters and make new friends. After 42 years of operation, there are still people in the community who don’t know about For Pets’ Sake and all the diverse programs we have.
Our main financial support, however, has always come from YOU our members, who continue to believe in everything FPS does to help animals in our community and the people who love them. No one could possibly pay what it costs to support local pets, but when we pool donations together, we can really do so much.
One big way to help is by being a For Pets’ Sake member. Each year in June FPS sends out membership packets and asks for your continued support. By now you should have received your packet in the mail. Special thanks to all of you who have already responded. If you did not receive a packet or need one for a friend who has never been a member, please contact us at (970) 565-7387. We LOVE to sign up new members. And don’t forget your furry friends can be honored with a Pet Membership and Businesses are highlighted with a business membership.
WE ask you to be a member because the animals need YOU. Unlike the penny, your membership has great value and will never be outdated. Thank YOU.
