Invitation for Abstracts

The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) is inviting one-page abstracts for papers and/or posters to be presented in-person at our annual conference CRDCN 2025: 25 Years of Partnership for Research. The conference will be held at the University of Ottawa, from May 13-14, 2025. 
We would love to have your submission and would be grateful if you could also share this call for abstracts with your researcher colleagues who may be interested in submitting proposals. The link below leads to the CRDCN website with more information and a link to submit abstracts.

Applications for Summer Research Assistantships Now Open!

The Prentice Institute for Global Population and Economy is seeking University of Lethbridge students for two Research Assistant Streams:


Stream 1: The Prentice Institute Summer Research Assistants

Stream 2: City Scholars Research Assistants


The successful candidates for both streams will work in a full-time, paid capacity from May 1, 2025, until August 31st, 2025. Both research streams are designed to provide students with hands-on experience conducting and supporting research projects.

Proposals for Grants

The GEM-GeoNorth program has launched a call for proposals for grants. The Program is currently seeking proposals for multidisciplinary projects to be completed within 24 months after the official approval (the expected period to be covered is from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027). The GEM-GeoNorth proposal template is available by request at the email address below. Proposals must be received by Monday, December 16, 2024, and sent to: gem-geonorth-gem-geonord@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca.
The Program is looking to support innovative proposals to help develop long-term capacity building in Northern and Indigenous communities and/or enable Northerners to facilitate use of GEM-GeoNorth data and knowledge for land use decision-making needs in the North.
Eligible recipients are:
  • Indigenous organizations and groups;
  • Canadian and international not-for-profit organizations (including industry, research and professional associations);
  • provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments, and their departments and agencies where applicable; and
  • Canadian and international academic institutions.

Knowledge Creation Grants

The Alberta Centre for Labour Market Research (ACLMR) is requesting proposals from all twenty-five of its faculty members for Knowledge Creation Grants (KCG). With the ACLMR officially recognized and launched in 2024, these sub-grants are the first chance to create new research under the priorities and themes of the Centre and Government of Alberta in 2025.
