UPPER SCHOOL NEWS & INFORMATION
Important Information for Upper School Students ...

Upper School students needing to check out during the day must do so using School Pass any and every time they leave campus. We have had several sports and open elective related issues with students leaving campus and being marked absent by the teacher because they forgot to sign out with School Pass.
Spots Still Available for HT Fine Arts Trip to NYC!

Start spreading the news! There are still some remaining spots open for any Fine Arts students (grades 9-12) interested in visiting New York City, the week of Winter Break. We leave Thursday, Feb 17th and arrive back home on Sunday Feb 20th. Students will not miss any school and will have Monday to rest up before heading back from break on Tuesday.

Currently, the plan is to attend 3 Broadway musicals; a concert at the renowned Carnegie Hall given by Arturo Sandoval, a famous Cuban jazz trumpet player; tour the Whitney and MOMA art museums; and participate in a workshop given by a Broadway actor. One day we plan to learn about the Harlem Renaissance with a tour of Harlem and the Apollo Theater. We will also enjoy a meal at the world-famous Sylvia's restaurant! We plan to return to our favorite NYC restaurant, Carmine's, and make a return stop to John's Pizza. (All plans are subject to change due to availability of venues and activities.)

There will be a security guard on duty each night assigned to our hotel rooms so that chaperones can rest, knowing everyone is safe and sound.

Total cost will be about $2000 and will be determined by airfare, number of participants and how many students are in a room. There are options for 2,3 and 4 to a hotel room. A deposit of $600 holds your student's spot and is due by next Friday, October 22nd. Space is limited by our bus size.

PLEASE NOTE: As of August 17th, New York City’s new “Key to NYC” health and safety initiative requires anyone 12 or older to show proof of the COVID-19 vaccine for indoor dining and indoor entertainment. The trip itinerary will include multiple shows, museums, events and restaurants. As our group will be required to stay together for the entirely of the trip, all students who wish to participate on the trip will need to be vaccinated and have a vaccine card.

Please email Ms. Wacaster with any questions or for more information at [email protected].

Dual Enrollment Students Pitch Brevard Zoo on Aquarium Project Marketing Challenge
As part of Holy Trinity's partnership with Florida Tech, our dual enrollment students are working with the Brevard Zoo to help market their campaign for the newly-proposed aquarium to be built at Port Canaveral. The Zoo would like to engage our local community to get excited about this project. They will be placing surfboards all around town for people to see and learn more about plans for the aquarium. Our students were given a couple of weeks to research, brainstorm, conduct interviews, and come up with ideas on the best locations for surfboard placements. They were then allotted five minutes to make formal presentations of their proposals to "woo" the Zoo. One group of students used a math modeling technique to identify businesses with the most foot traffic to get the widest exposure. Brevard Zoo officials will now review the students projects and incorporate their ideas to help with their marketing. They were very impressed with the detail of our students projects and the creativity they displayed with their many different ideas. Now how cool is that!
