UPPER SCHOOL INFORMATION
HUDDLE UPDATE

The Huddle has been a huge success, especially for our junior high students. We do ask, however, that if you are allowing your student to participate, please speak with them about following the stated rules. We have had a few instances of students trying to climb the fence to go to Jeramiah’s and others in which students were not respecting the provided equipment resulting in broken ping pong tables. We want to create a fun, yet safe, environment for all so that students can use the time to study in addition to relaxing after school. If any student becomes a persistent behavior problem, they will not be allowed to participate in the Huddle and will have to be picked up in carline.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
NHS FALL FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT CHILDREN'S HUNGER PROJECT
Holy Trinity’s chapter of the Children’s Hunger Project is working with the National Honor Society to host a food drive from September 12 - 16. Boxes will be placed in the Upper School front office and the library as convenient drop-off locations for non-perishable food donations. High school students will receive one and a half volunteer hours if they donate at least 3 items. However, everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate!
HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS REMINDER:
Students should continue to enter their community service hours into the Treedom App. While Chaplain Rutherford will be approving CS hours this year, Mrs. Buist and Mrs. Pedicini are initially assisting with the approval process as he learns Treedom. Did you know Holy Trinity has many campus events that offer high school students an opportunity for earning service hours? Students who find it difficult to be out and about in the community should take advantage of these campus events throughout the school year. Please watch for additional community service hour opportunities through upcoming community partnerships, too.

CS Opportunity: The Haven for Children is a group home in Satellite Beach for foster children. The thrift store- The Lamb Shoppe - is in need of some volunteers on Saturdays and special occasions. Students looking for Bright Future hours, please email Ms. Amber Olesen at [email protected].

Florida Bright Futures – In July 2022, Governor DeSantis’s office approved student part-time work hours to enhance the community service hour requirement for Bright Futures Scholarship Program. That applies to all Florida high school students working toward Bright Futures Scholarships, including HT students. However, HT still requires 100 hours of high school community service hours as a HT graduation requirement.

As a Christian school that strives educate the mind, body and spirit of our students, Holy Trinity feels serving others is a basic tenet of the Christian faith. HT encourages our school community to strive to serve others as Jesus did. In order to achieve the 100 minimum hour graduation requirement for community service, HT recommends each student earn a minimum of 25 hours per year of high school to achieve this graduation requirement.
SUPPORT HT MUSIC - BECOME A BOOSTER

There will be a first meeting for parents to discuss the HT Europe Trip to France and Italy on Thursday September 8th at 5:30pm in the library. Check out www.HTEuropeTrip.com for more information!
