Eight of our Morse Tigers presented at the UCSD Create CS Listen Up Conference at the Marina Village Conference Center in in front of an audience of 200 people! This team of student researchers has been working for over 3 months to develop a research question centered around student involvement in Computer Science on campus, conduct their research through focus groups, analyze their data, and prepare a presentation of their findings.

JUNE 2022 NEWSLETTER

SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION


Due to construction, Morse will not host summer school this summer. However, summer school will be available to students at SCPA or other nearby hosting sites.


Summer school will run in TWO sessions: 


Session 1: June 21-July 8

Session 2: July 11-July 29

Time: 9 am to 1 pm


Students will be able to earn up to 2 credits per session for a total of 4 credits.


CLASS of 2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION!


Morse's Class of 2022 Commencement Ceremony is on Tuesday, June 14th. Morse will have a traditional commencement ceremony on our football field.

Important Dates:

  • Senior Prom: Saturday, June 4th at Sea World (for additional information contact Mr. Duffy at [email protected])
  • Senior Final Exams: June 8th-10th (for additional information, contact your child's senior teacher)
  • Seniors' last day of classes: Friday, June 10th (please note that seniors are STILL expected to attend school on both Monday, June 13th and June 14th)
  • Cap and Gown Distribution/Graduation Rehearsal: Monday, June 13th (for additional information contact Mr. Duffy at [email protected])
  • Grad Nite (Disneyland): Saturday, June 11th (for additional information contact Ms. Orona at [email protected])

The Morse High School Advanced Orchestra performed at the Rady Shell SDUSD Band and Orchestra Festival. The Board President, Sharon Whitehurst-Payne had the joy of introducing the ensemble and shared the backstory of the music that the group played.

WELLNESS CENTER

The Wellness Center (Rm 100) is a safe, non-judgmental, inclusive space for all high school students. We cultivate a positive school climate & our students come first.

We have groups, one-on-one Wellness Check-Ins, Life Skills

Education, Student-Led Wellness opportunities, Activities (mindfulness, coping skills, exercise, art, self-care etc.), On The Go Snacks & much more.


The Wellness center offers a unique model that includes a team of highly trained FamilyYouth Partners, supervised by a licensed mental health clinician to provide: 

  • Short term case management to coordinate care, and link to appropriate

           resources and services. 

  • Mentoring and coaching to help families navigate through behavioral health, physical healthcare, education, child welfare, legal, and juvenile justice systems.
  • Strengthening support networks for families
  • Advocating for parents and caregivers by attending key meetings, such as for Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and court hearings. 
  • Educating the community on a variety of behavioral health topics.
