2023-24 Athletics



It's that time of year where you need to start thinking about getting your sports physicals for next school year. Sports physicals for the 23-24 year must be dated after April 1, 2023. Athletic physicals, as well as other necessary document, must be uploaded into planetHS before students are allowed to participate in athletics.

Riverwalk has reserved seats for the Charlotte Knights game on Saturday, May 20. Tickets are $17.00 and must be purchased by May 12.

Athletic Fees

There is an athletic fee of $65 per athlete per sport to compete in athletics. The athletic fee is used to help purchase athletic uniforms, shirts, equipment, insurance, rental fees, and other athletic costs.

We Want Your Feedback

As each sport season concludes we want to gather information to help us improve as a program. Parents and athletes can currently complete surveys for all fall sports. The student surveys went to their Riverwalk email address and parent surveys went to the email address on file in PowerSchool. Please take a couple of minutes to reflect on your season and complete the surveys that were sent to you. If you did not receive a survey, please contact me at [email protected].

Spotlight Student-Athlete

Jake Matthews is a 10th grade dual enrollment student in his first year playing golf for Riverwalk Academy. His favorite thing about golf is the calm atmosphere. It’s more laidback than other sports.Participating in golf has taught Jake to trust the process. If you keep working at something, eventually you will see results. When not playing golf Jake likes playing guitar and drums.

VARSITY LETTERS

Student athletes that are part of a varsity team before the first competition and remain with the team throughout the year will earn a varsity letter. Students can purchase a letterman jacket through Jostens at the following link:

The basic letterman's jacket for Riverwalk Academy has already been designed and can be found on the website. From there you can customize the jacket to fit your taste.
