   LAST MONTH…

Lots of events happened in October! We kicked off the month with Barbara O'Neill and we are happy to say she has agreed to come back the same weekend in 2025!!

Then we had the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) Southern National Meet and it was a good turn out and the weather was fantastic!

That next weekend we held the 5th annual C10 Fall Revival and they had over 2000 Trucks show up for the weekend.

Lastly we had our Fun on the Farm Fall Festival. There was lots of fun for every event and we are excited to have them all again in 2025!

Recipe of the month:

Eggplant Mozzarella Sandwiches

Ingredients

- 1 eggplant

- 4 Tbsp olive oil

- 2 cloves garlic

- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

- 1 cup marinara sauce

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 4 rolls

- 1 Tbsp butter

- 1/4 tsp garlic powder

- 4 oz. mozzarella

Instructions

-Cube the eggplant into ½-inch cubes. Mince the garlic.

-Heat 2 Tbsp of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, then add the cubed eggplant and Italian seasoning. Continue to sauté until the eggplant is soft (5-7 minutes).

-Add the marinara sauce to the skillet with the eggplant, stir to combine, then heat through (3-5 minutes). Taste and season with salt (about ½ tsp).

Preheat the boiler on your oven and make sure the oven rack is positioned in the middle. Combine the second 2 Tbsp olive oil with the butter and garlic powder. Microwave for 15-30 seconds to melt the butter, then stir to combine.

Place the buns on a baking sheet, cut sides up. Brush the butter and olive oil mixture over the cut surfaces of the rolls. Bake under the broiler for about 5 minutes, or until they are just barely golden brown (watch them closely as broilers can vary).

After removing the rolls from the oven, switch the setting from broil to bake (350ºF). Pile the eggplant mixture onto the toasted rolls, then top with mozzarella. Return the sandwiches to the hot oven and bake for about 5 minutes more, or until the mozzarella is melted. Serve hot!

Enjoy!

What to expect this month

We are preparing for our Country Christmas train that starts on black friday! Nov. 29- Dec 1st is the first weekend!

The Christmas Train was started in 2008 when The late Brown Loflin had a dream to put lights on the train and add a movie about the true meaning of Christmas. He felt it was his way to share with the community about Jesus and offer a place loved ones can create memories with their families.

When you arrive at the Denton FarmPark for the Country Christmas Train you walk down Candy Cane Lane to the train station. You may visit Santa at the train depot to have professional photos made. Then board the Handy Dandy Railroad to take a ride around our 1.5 mile track to view the beautiful Christmas lights and a short movie about the TRUE meaning of Christmas.

Along the ride you will also see a nativity scene, dedication to the military, and even dancing elves for the children. After the train ride, stop by the Gingerbread House to visit Laramie's Cakery for fresh baked goods and gingerbread cookies being made right in front of you. Continue down the lighted pathway to see the Grist Mill, a petting zoo, The General Store, Radio Museum, Church, Shoe Shop, Gas Station, Myers Car Shop, Doll Museum, and Coke Museum. Weather permitting, rides for the kids are available to enjoy like a Ferris wheel, swinging tubs, and more.

Don't forget to hop on the free tram ride, beside the Doll Museum, for a ride to the Reid Plantation. At the plantation, you will see what life was like in the 1800s. Visit the black smith shop, and the plantation house where you will find candle making. When you're done, ride the tram back to modern times and follow the path to the craft barn. Finish your night out with some good food and crafts inside before you head back home!

* Gates open @ 4:30, ticket sales END at 8:30 pm.

The park closes 30 minutes after the last train ride.

Do you know how to pray?

Matthew 6: 6-13

6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

7  And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Amen.

Amazing News!

Denton has their very own magazine! Its called Carolinas Highways Magazine!

The first issue came out in September and we are so excited to be included on this wonderful new addition.

We had a schedule in the first issue and will have an entire page in the next!

If you haven't seen this yet then you need to get your hands on one as soon as possible. Supporting local has always been important to us and we believe there are so many others in our small community that share that same opinion.

The next issue will come out soon. We saw a peak of it and you will not believe what is on the cover...
