We hope you find our newsletters interesting and enjoy learning more about what we do in our communities within the Inland North County area. October is one of our busiest months of the year. Recent Events

San Diego Gives Fundraiser

September, 2022

With our efforts and donor generosity we raised over $6,000 through our San Diego Gives campaign, which will help fund our community programs like Operation School Bell®, Ready, Set, Read! and Scholarships. THANK YOU to all our donors. This year was our first time participating in this awesome event and we are looking forward to being a part of it on an annual basis -- live local, give local. Escondido Education Foundation

Fashion Show October 1, 2022

On the first of October, our Chapter collaborated with the Escondido Education Foundation on a fashion show fundraiser featuring fashions from our Thrift Shop, called ‘Thrift Shop Couture’. The fashions were fabulous and flawless and it was a huge success! Our fashionista member, Olivia Terry, masterminded the entire fashion show. Everything sold and it was so much fun! Operation School Bell

September 20 thru October 11, 2022

Our Operation School Bell^® program completed one of its most successful events ever! Over a period of 10 days in September and October we were able to clothe over 1,000 children from kindergarten through high school in North County school districts at Kohl's in San Marcos and Poway. Kohl's has been our community partner for the last eight years and helps us bring joy and hope to our community youth. Read More

Escondido Grand Avenue Festival

October 16, 2022

This year’s Fall Grand Avenue Festival held in Escondido’s historic downtown was another huge success for our Ready, Set, Read! program. We gave away over 1,000 gently used and never used books to children of all ages, parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, who enjoyed selecting books for themselves, friends and relatives. The event also provided the opportunity for our Chapter to meet members of the community, let them know about our programs and our Thrift Shop and invite folks to join us in our efforts to support our community. Upcoming Events

North County Philanthropy Council (NCPC) Volunteer Awards October 28, 2022

For more than three decades, the NCPC Volunteer Awards have been celebrating volunteers, philanthropists, business leaders, and nonprofit professionals. This year's sold-out event will be held Friday, October 28, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Our honoree this year is the indefatigable, upbeat, sunny dispositioned Marolyn Miglin. Marolyn has helped with all of our programs, volunteers in our Thrift Shop and has held many positions within our organization. She is currently the chairperson for our signature program, Operation School Bell. This is a much-deserved award for our happiest member, Marolyn Miglin!

Giving Tuesday Fundraiser

Giving Tuesday on November 29th is an annual day of giving for all friends of nonprofit organizations to translate their gratitude from Thanksgiving into much-needed support for their favorite charities -- like us! Watch for our postings on facebook and instagram leading up to this great day.
