(This is a corrected version. A February worship date was in error-- deepest apologies.)

Aloha Holy Innocents family and friends,

We continue to have our Sunday 8:00 a.m. service in our host church location in Napili. We are blessed with the presence of on-island supply priests and visiting priests for celebrating the Eucharist. Pictured below from left is Fr. Hau'oli, who will be with us Christmas Eve, and Mother Heather and Fr. Bruce (our former Vicar) preaching on a Sunday with us.

The Rev. Amy Crowe, was named as Vicar of Trinity By-the-Sea in Kihei, and by our association as a preaching station, Holy Innocents. Amy has prioritized that relationship by scheduling herself to be present at Holy Innocents one Sunday each month. Additionally, our friend Kalani Holokai, who has been our liaison with the Bishop’s Office, was ordained a Deacon in October. The Bishop has assigned her to Trinity/Holy Innocents, and she will be with us one Sunday per month for Morning Prayer. We are truly blessed.

Pictured below from left, the Rev. Deacon Kalani Holokai with Mother Amy on Sunday, November 16, at her first service with Holy Innocents since her ordination, and photos of her ordination on O'ahu during Convention 57 in October. Folks from Holy Innocents flew up to be with her on this special day!

Many of you ask about our rebuilding, but the truth is that nothing on Front Street is currently in a rebuilding stage. Remember that Maui County’s priority is to get families back in their homes and that commercial rebuilding will be secondary. Although we are eager to return to our Front St. home, we have joy in knowing that many in our church family are currently rebuilding their homes.

Here we are in another season of Advent with the theme of “we are waiting”. We love it when you visit us in our beautiful temporary location at the Honolua United Methodist Church and share your stories and connections to Holy Innocents.

The hope of the Christ child is alive in Lahaina. We wish you the same hope in your heart and a very blessed Christmas season.

With Aloha,

Katy & Leanna, Worship Leaders

Below, the whole group gathered together with Kalani in celebration of her ordination to the Diaconate.
