Happy 2026!

Kicking Off the New Year at the Gallery!

We’ve got an exciting lineup of classes and events planned for everyone—whether you’re an art lover or a hands-on artist! The year started off with a bang with a basket-making workshop and our annual Airing of the Quilts on the first Saturday in January.

There’s so much more to come—Keep reading for opportunities to learn, create, and celebrate art with us!

This year we had about 5 quilters participate and the display of quilts. And it was beautiful! This helped kick of the Gallery's new theme, "Narrative Threads". If you make it in, before we switch our art out, you will find that each artist has a narrative to go with their piece of artwork.

Sean Holiday came on behalf of the Florida's Argicultural Arts Grant and taught a begining class on basket weavng. Each participant made a braclet and basket with materials from a palm tree. They also recieved a kit to take home to make a coil basket at home.

Plein Air Club

Our Plein Air Club meets every 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month, and the next session is January 27th at 9:30 AM. This time, the group will be gathering at Bob Mason Park on the north side of the river. Everyone is welcome to come—there’s no cost, just a chance to sit in nature and paint or draw, exploring how light and surroundings can inspire your artwork.

Be sure to bring a chair, water, sunscreen, and a hat to stay comfortable while you create.

The Gallery Cats

As some of you may know, a group of cats has been living under and around the Gallery. One of our members and board members, Patricia, has been caring for them by feeding, trapping, and ensuring they are spayed and neutered.

Patricia is seeking to raise funds and collect donated cat food to continue this important work. She will be at the Gallery during Market Day on February 7 to accept monetary and food donations, and we hope you’ll consider supporting this cause.

If you’re unable to attend, donations can also be dropped off at the Gallery at any time.

Caloosahatchee Creativity Camp

We’re excited to announce that Caloosahatchee Creativity Camp for young artists will be held at the the Gallery this summer! The campers will explore painting, sculpture, and mixed media through fun weekly themes inspired by our local environment, history, and imagination. Our goal is to build confidence, creativity, and a love for making art.

A different camp theme will be each week during the month of June, Mon-Thurs. 8am-3pm. Stay tuned for more information about this fun opprotunity.
