The first-ever Juneteenth Street Race will take place Friday in St. Joseph, offering local youth an opportunity to celebrate the history, culture and community of Juneteenth through competition and fellowship. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and is hosted by Juneteenth Saint Joseph. Registration costs $25, and participants must submit a signed waiver to compete.

BA Marketing and Publicity is marking its 10th anniversary of serving the Shenandoah area with a community block party that was on June 17. The event was at Arrowhead Realty in Shenandoah. Attendees could experience food trucks and participating businesses that offered special promotions. The owner of BA Marketing and Publicity said the event was to strengthen community connections and encourage residents to explore local businesses.

A Missouri man is among five people charged on Tuesday in connection with what the FBI said was a plot to attack and kill government officials during an Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House on Sunday. Daniel Eskridge of Caldwell County is charged with conspiracy to commit murder on White House grounds. The FBI said Eskridge was part of a group that plotted online to meet in Fredericksburg, Virginia. According to court documents, the group help multiple conversations on encrypted social media platforms in which members discussed assassinating several politicians and businesses executives during the UFC event.

Young artists will have an opportunity to explore their creativity later this month during the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art's Summer Art Camp. The four-day camp will be held June 23-26 and is open to children ages 6 to 13. Inspired by works in the museum's permanent collection, the camp will provide participants with hands-on experience in art-making, creative techniques and new ways of viewing art.
