Day 2 Energy Was Off the Charts! |
Dear Broadway Bound Families, What a fun first two days! We are so excited about the energy our campers are bringing into the room, and we hope they keep it up. Their focus, enthusiasm, and willingness to jump into anything we throw at them has set a wonderful tone for the rest of camp. Rehearsals are picking up speed, castmates are becoming friends, and the show is already starting to take shape. Thank you for sending us such enthusiastic performers. As we move through camp, please read the newsletter in full each day. It carries important updates from the directors and a window into your camper's experience. Special note: please, no DoorDash or food delivery service throughout the camp day. Campers should bring a labeled lunch, snacks, and a refillable water bottle each day. With excitement, Mr. Cimino-Johnson Founder & Executive Director |

⭐ Director's CornerA few friendly reminders to help everything run smoothly: • Today we worked on choreography for Story of My Life, Duloc, and Big Bright Beautiful World, and learned music, choreography, and blocking for the first three scenes and three songs • The students are amazing! Practice at home to feel most prepared • Active listening and attentiveness help every rehearsal • Wear closed-toe shoes or jazz shoes for safety, no Crocs • Wear movement clothes, comfort is key for active days • By Monday, July 20, campers should be off book, so please help them memorize their lines and lyrics • Get off script as soon as possible. For memorizing, use flashcards or a buddy to help test lines • Review blocking and choreography with the practice tracks and rehearsal videos in the drive |
|
🎵 Rehearsal Tracks & Digital ScriptPractice at home anytime. Vocal tracks are available so campers can rehearse songs, and dance videos will be added throughout camp so they can review choreography. Digital Script: we have gone digital this year. While we will have some paper copies, we encourage campers to keep the script on their device throughout camp. Campers without a device will be provided a paper script. |

🏆 Junior Thespian FestivalThis year, 40 students will be invited to join our Junior Thespian Festival Troupe based on their participation and performance in Shrek Jr. These students will represent Broadway Bound at JTF Atlanta in January 2027, where they perform and compete with the musical Shrek Jr. It is one of the most exciting opportunities we offer, and a wonderful way to keep the magic going long after camp ends. |
