📖 Homework & Rehearsal Focus

Great progress today! We started learning the finale and have learned almost all the dances. Here is what we would love your camper to work on before our next rehearsal:

• It's time to hone in on memorizing lyrics to all songs, including solo parts within songs like “Story of My Life” and the Finale. Dance videos are posted in the Google Drive folder below.
• Review lines. All lines must be completely memorized by next Wednesday, July 22.

🎟️ Tickets Are On Sale and Selling Fast!

Tickets to our Shrek Kids Youth performances are on sale now and going quickly. All performances have assigned seats, so the earlier you buy, the better your seats. Confirm your camper's cast in HiSawyer before checkout.

🎪 Performance Day Arrival

• Youth AM: drop off at 10:00 AM on performance day.
• Youth PM: campers remain at camp through the day until performance time.

🏷️ Name Badges

If your student has brought home a name badge, please check the back to confirm all emergency information is correct. If anything needs updating, please let us know right away.

Please also make sure your student brings their badge to camp every day.

☕ Save the Date: Parent Coffee & Casting Conversation

Wednesday, July 22 • 9:00 to 9:45 AM • Studio A

Parents and guardians are invited to join us after drop-off for coffee, pastries, and a conversation about the casting process. We will help families:

• Understand how casting decisions are made
• Learn what directors consider when assigning roles
• Recognize the importance of every role
• Meet members of the NoVAPA team
• Ask general questions about the production process

A separate email invitation with more details will be sent soon. We hope to see you there!

⭐ Director's Corner

A few friendly reminders to help everything run smoothly:

• Our young performers are amazing! A little practice at home helps them feel confident
• Active listening and following along help every rehearsal
• Wear closed-toe shoes for safety, no Crocs
• Wear comfy clothes they can move and dance in
• Sing the songs together at home, it is the best way to help them learn

🎵 Rehearsal Tracks & Digital Script

Practice at home anytime. Vocal tracks are available so campers can rehearse songs, and dance videos will be added throughout camp so they can review choreography.

Digital Script: we have gone digital this year. While we will have some paper copies, we encourage families to keep the script handy on a device throughout camp. Campers without a device will be provided a paper script.
