Venture Studio Expansion, Growing Founder Pipeline, and Investor Opportunities Ahead

The first quarter of 2026 marks a pivotal moment for Silicon Beach.

What began as a community designed to bring founders, investors, and innovators together is now evolving into something much larger — a venture studio platform building, supporting, and scaling high-potential companies.

Over the past few months we’ve seen:

  • Rapid growth in founder participation
  • Expansion of our venture studio portfolio
  • Increasing investor engagement
  • Early exit conversations with global firms
  • Growing national interest in Jacksonville’s innovation ecosystem

The momentum continues to build, and we are excited to share a few highlights from the first quarter.

Building Jacksonville’s Innovation Community

Silicon Beach continues to strengthen the local startup ecosystem through three monthly events designed to support founders and innovators:

  • Open Office Hours hosted at local coffee shops where founders can get direct mentorship and guidance
  • Community Networking Events connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders
  • Silicon Beach Pitch Events hosted at the University of North Florida Coggin School of Business

These gatherings continue to grow and make a meaningful impact on the local ecosystem.

Our pitch events have grown from about 60 attendees to more than 150 people in the room, with additional founders and investors joining via Zoom. Our coffee shop events regularly bring 30–60 founders and professionals into local businesses, supporting the community while creating opportunities for collaboration.

Supporting Founders and Small Businesses

Beyond events, Silicon Beach continues to help founders develop their businesses and refine their messaging.

Through our office hours we’ve worked with companies across many industries — from early-stage technology startups to an inspiring American Sign Language education business serving the community.

Perhaps the greatest validation of the work we are doing is that many new clients are now finding Silicon Beach through referrals from founders, investors, and partners who have experienced the ecosystem firsthand.

The Next Evolution: Venture Studio Expansion

A natural progression for Silicon Beach has been the development of a venture studio model.

While we have been exploring this path for some time, we recently made the decision to join Tanager Holdings, an established venture studio with an existing portfolio of companies.

As we move forward:

  • Silicon Beach will remain the community and marketing platform that has built strong brand recognition
  • The venture studio will operate under a new name, which we will announce soon

This structure allows us to expand our ability to build, invest in, and scale innovative companies.

In addition, Silicon Beach is currently supporting:

Development of a large aerospace and aviation focused military-industrial park

Several companies transitioning from acceleration to scale.

Strategic Exit Activity

Another encouraging signal for our ecosystem is that one of our venture studio companies is currently engaged in early acquisition discussions with a major global technology company.

The company operates at the intersection of health technology and artificial intelligence, and the potential acquirer is a large publicly traded Japanese technology company with global imaging and medical technology operations.

While discussions remain confidential, the engagement reflects the type of globally relevant innovation emerging from the Silicon Beach ecosystem and reinforces our focus on building companies capable of reaching international markets and strategic exits.

Investor Update: $5M Venture Studio Capital Raise

Silicon Beach and Tanager have begun raising $5M in venture studio capital to support the next phase of growth.

This capital will be deployed into targeted startups positioned to accelerate, including companies within our pipeline and existing portfolio.

Our investment focus includes companies that have moved beyond the concept stage and demonstrate real traction:

  • Startups with a validated MVP
  • Founders transitioning from MVP to full product after product-market fit validation
  • Companies with active sales pipelines or early customers
  • Portfolio companies requiring capital to fulfill purchase orders or scale operations

This approach allows the venture studio to focus on companies entering the acceleration phase, where capital combined with operational support can create meaningful value.

Investors participating in the venture studio gain exposure to a diversified portfolio of emerging companies, rather than a single startup investment.

To ensure proper structure and regulatory reporting, all investments will be coordinated through our investment banking partners.

Expanding Our Investor Network

Silicon Beach continues to expand relationships with leading investor networks across the Southeast.

We are currently in discussions to collaborate with Venture Atlanta for our May Silicon Beach Pitch Event and future programming.

Venture Atlanta is one of the Southeast’s premier venture conferences, connecting high-growth startups with venture capital firms, angel investors, and institutional investors.

This collaboration would represent another step toward connecting Jacksonville founders with national capital networks.

Inspiring Conversations at Our Pitch Events

Each month we bring experienced entrepreneurs and investors to speak with our community.

January Speaker

Joel Stevens and Gianna Seravino from Bernstein joined us, with Joel delivering an outstanding talk on prioritization and leadership.

February Speaker

Peter von Dyck, a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 patents and several successful exits, shared his journey into health technology in a deeply inspiring presentation.

Community Engagement

This quarter Silicon Beach also engaged with leaders across the Jacksonville region.

We had the opportunity to meet with:

  • Mayor Donna Deegan
  • Ron Armstrong, mayoral candidate

We also participated in media and community conversations including:

    PB&Jax Podcast      Frontline Visionaries Podcast

    WOKV 104.5 Radio    ReForge Podcast
