Summer is Nearly Here

What an awesome Spring we are having. The weather has fluctuated, but definitely great enough to fly. The month ended with a very busy Memorial Day weekend with four Pilatus Planes here at the same time at one point.

Summer is an excellent time to purchase an airplane. Remember that Ken or Jack can help you find what you are looking for and help you along with the buying process. Click Here to see what planes we have to sell today and stay in touch to see what other planes become available.

We look forward to welcoming the Summer with a BBQ on Saturday June 17th. Read on below for details. This summer we will be having weekly tours of the airport on Tuesdays, starting July 11th. These tours are free and open to the public, so be sure to tell those interested in aviation at the Princeton Airport . Read on to see what else is going on at the Princeton Airport.

Fly For A Cause! Use Your Skills As a Pilot

We are happy to help out pilots who are flying for a cause! There are over 100 different organizations for which you could volunteer to be a pilot. These organizations include Elevated Access, PALS, Angel Flight, Pilots N Paws, and more. These flights can include various missions from transporting puppies to bringing someone to a medical procedure.

We are offering to help fuel the planes by lowering the cost of fuel below selling price. Plus, if you plan to rent a plane for a mission, you will get a 15% discount for the rental. This is a great way to use your aviator skills for good. If you are looking to participate in such a mission and wish to team up with another aviator at 39N, let us know and we will connect you.

If you would like more information, see us at the front desk, send an email, or give us a call.

From The Right Seat

Pete Rafle CFII, ATP

Every Memorial Day, I ponder the meaning of loss and how we, who have survived a war, process remembrance as a part of our lives. I am a Veteran, a former Naval Officer and Aviator. I served on two deployments to Viet-Nam, in 1966 and 1967. I flew in a maritime Patrol Squadron whose mission was to protect the fleet from seaborne threats in the South China Sea and the Tonkin Gulf. The Squadron’s primary mission was detecting Soviet submarines throughout the Pacific Ocean.

The Viet-Nam War was an extension of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the United States, and the allied Western Powers. We grew up in that era, which was marked by air raid drills in school, “Drop, Duck, and Cover”, and the threat of imminent mutual destruction posed by the Soviet Union. My world view and sense of citizenship was shaped, in part, by that long term stalemate.

Like many of my age, I was active in the Boy Scouts. My sense of duty to country and other attributes of good moral character were fostered by the activities of my troop in my community. I still believe in Service to others, a Sense of Honor, Do a Good Deed, Do Your Best. When I joined the Navy, I felt I was on a continuum of being a good citizen and doing my duty to my country. My classmates and I applied ourselves to be the best we could be, and to uphold the traditions of the Naval Service.
